More names confirmed for the Ricky Morton cup
Posted: Feb 13th 2006 By: oklastaff
Former UWF Champion "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and former Southern Boy Tracy Smothers have been added to the list of talent that is confirmed for the Ricky Morton Cup on Sunday, February 26. Smothers holds a unique connection to Oklahoma as, while wrestling in the WWF in 1996 & ?97, he was billed as Freddie Joe Floyd from Bow Leggs, OK.
Williams & Smothers join other names such as Former Mid-South/UWF owner Cowboy Bill Watts, Oklahoma native and former WCCW World Tag Team Champion Steve Cox and former NWA World Tag Team Champion Ragin? Bull Manny Fernandez.
Over the weekend, a rumor was erroneously reported both online and in print media regarding the appearances of former NWA World Champions Harley Race and Terry Funk. Omni Pro Wrestling confirms on their website that talks have occurred with both superstars, but there has been no confirmation of appearance by either. Omni Pro would be honoured to have both make an appearance.
Those who have purchased tickets online should have those mailed out this week. Tickets will also go on sale at retail outlets this week and KMYZ 104.5 radio will be giving away free tickets to the event as well.
A full talent roster for the event should be confirmed by early next week.
