TNT Championship match set for next week's AEW Rampage
Posted: Feb 19th 2022 By: Bryan Rose
A TNT title match has been announced for next week’s Rampage.
It was confirmed on tonight’s show that Sammy Guevara will defend the TNT title against Andrade El Idolo. The match was set following events from this week’s Dynamite.
Guevara was defending the TNT title against Darby Allin on Wednesday when Andrade’s assistant Jose came down to ringside. As the referee was distracted, Andrade emerged and attacked Allin with an iPad as Allin was going to the top rope. Guevara recovered and, not knowing what had happened, hit the GTH on Allin for the win.
After the match, Matt Hardy came to the ring and attacked Allin. As Guevara chased Hardy off, Andrade attacked Guevara, laying him out. Andrade ended Dynamite by posing with the TNT titles.
Next week’s Rampage will be taped following Dynamite at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Announced for Dynamite next week is House of Black vs. Penta El Zero Miedo & PAC, Jade Cargill vs. The Bunny for the TBS Championship, and a tag team battle royale for a slot in the three way AEW Tag Team title match at Revolution.
