Romero Wages War on Former Friend
Posted: Nov 6th 2007 By: CMBurnham
Five years ago, current ComPro Champion Anthony Jackson introduced a wrestler known as Manservant to the Oklahoma ranks. For almost 9 months, this pair was inseperable. Jackson guided Manservant to the OCW Oklahoma Women's Title and even convinced him to give back the OCW Oklahoma Hardcore Title after winning it from Jackson.
But then OCW shut down and Manservant reinvented himself as current FCW Tag Team Champion Romero Contreras. Contreras still attempted to maintain something of a relationship with Jackson, going so far as to form the short-lived tag team of the Mexican Combo Platter. But after Jackson no-showed the finals of the TPW Tag Team Title tournament and Contreras lost to the Heatseekers, the bond between these 2 men was dissolved. They tried to patch things up on a couple of occassions, but it never worked. Despite that, Contreras and Jackson rarely entered the ring against each other. They even held the TPW Tag Team Title together (along with Sudden Impact 1) for a short while at the beginning of 2006.
Since the beginning of ComPro's existance, Jackson & Contreras have maintained their distance. There has been some competition in tag team matches, but nothing more than that. But since winning the ComPro title, Jackson's ego has blown out of control and it appears that "The Franchise" may be the only person who is capable of stopping this raging monstrosity.
Jackson has been joined in his antics by two associates, Rico Suave (who Jackson insists on referring to as "Rocco Valentino", even though it's obvious he's not) and someone that Jackson refers to as "The Greatest Bolo", allegedly 375 pounds (although he appears to weigh no more than 150). Bolo cost FCW Champion The Canadian Red Devil his shot at the ComPro title last week. This week, Jackson's associates would once again factor into the events of the evening and Romero Contreras would take the worst of the damage.
As usual, Contreras started the evening in his Dark Match and his opponent was Rico Suave. Suave posed no challenge to Contreras, but after the victory, Jackson & Bolo hit the ring and they all triple-teamed Romero. Jackson said that he'd heard that Romero was the "next best thing", but he'd already disposed of the "last next best thing" the previous week. The trio left Romero in a crumpled heap and would not reappear until the main event.
That match pitted Jackson against El Super Colibri for the ComPro Title. The rookie sensation matched all of Jackson's cunning with speed and agility, catching "All Action" off guard several times with some high-flying maneovures. But with Rico distracting the referee, Bolo hit Colibri with his kendo stick (much like he had done to the Devil the week before) and Jackson was able to hit the spear for the victory. Then, as the threesome was celebrating, Romero came out and entered the ring, but he never got a chance to get any revenge because he was once again beaten down by all 3 wrestlers. Jackson again ran his mouth about Romero before the evil trio departed.
Romero seems to finally have found something that will bring him out of his opening match dominance. And while Jackson may be the ComPro champion, Romero isn't interested in that so much right now. He wants to shut Jackson's mouth and restore some order and decency to the federation. He might need to find some allies to continue this war, as it seems rather one-sided right now. But with his knowledge of Jackson from their past association, it seems like only a matter of time before Romero puts "All Action" in his place.
