During an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show", Goldberg confirmed that he only has one more match left on his current WWE deal. Asked how many times can Vince McMahon call him when drunk in a bar, Goldberg replied, “I got one more match on my deal left and that is it. That’s all I got!” The former World Heavyweight champion wrestled three times this year, losing against Drew McIntyre at "Royal Rumble" and Bobby Lashley at "SummerSlam", and then got his revenge on Lashley at the "Crown Jewel" pay-per-view in October. With WrestleMania around the corner and needing to sell over 80,000 seats for a legit sell-out, twice, it’s fair to say that the last match will be saved for the biggest pay-per-view of them all.
Goldberg appeared on ESPN’s "College GameDay" on Saturday as the celebrity guest picker. You can see his appearance by clicking here.
According to digital agency LoveUX, WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns was the one who added more Instagram followers this year from the world of professional wrestling, nearly tripling the individual in second place. It has been a fantastic year for the Tribal Chief and fans did really "acknowledge" him on social media. Reigns added over 1.6 million new followers to his Instagram, or 1,651,702 to be exact. Coming in second place might be a surprise, but if you think she was bad in the ring, well, on social media she is queen. Eva Marie, who fans loved to hate and who is no longer in WWE, was second by adding 584,768 followers while Bianca Belair added 542,685 followers to cap off a great year for her as well. Alexa Bliss and Zelina Vega rounded up the top five with Bliss adding 464,262 followers and Queen Zelina with 442,689. The rest of the top 20 include Rhea Ripley with 318,014 new followers, Drew McIntyre with 307,241, Sasha Banks with 270,222, Becky Lynch with 260,660, Mandy Rose with 255,894, Bobby Lashley with 249,326, The Miz with 247,945, Charlotte Flair with 226,938, Goldberg with 225,889, AEW's Jade Cargill with 219,104, Edge with 214,829, Randy Orton with 214,796, Riddle with 211,455, AEW's Tay Conti with 204,721, and Carmella with 187,107.
On Friday night’s "WWE’s Top 10 Moments of 2021" special that aired on FS1, the following moments were ranked among the best of the year:
#10: RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) win the WWE RAW Tag Team titles at "SummerSlam" from A. J. Styles & Omos
#8: Bobby Lashley retains the WWE Championship against Goldberg at "SummerSlam"
#6: Bad Bunny makes his in-ring debut at "WrestleMania" with Damien Priest vs. John Morrison & The Miz
Full matches added to WWE’s YouTube last week include Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match from "WWE Battleground 2017" and A. J. Styles & Omos vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) from "WrestleMania 37".
PWInsider.com is reporting that "WWE Monday Night RAW" last on December 27th did not have the presence of key people such as Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, and Adam Pearce, with the backstage area running pretty much on skeleton crew. With several talent testing positive for coronavirus and those who were around them forced into quarantine, it was already going to be a big effort to do the broadcast, let alone with several key individuals missing as well. Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and creative writer Ed Koskey ran the show in their absence. Speaking of coronavirus, Fightful Wrestling added to the story that WWE will no longer do mandatory testing for their superstars and with the new CDC guidelines published last week, it will take only five days of quarantine for those who tested positive instead of 10, making "Day 1" more doable now.
2021 was a brutal year for WWE Superstars and those in developmental with the company releasing a total of 81 during the year. Citing coronavirus cost-cutting measures despite record revenue, WWE surprisingly even dismissed some of its biggest stars. Stars from main roster, NXT, and even those still training in the WWE Performance Center all got the dreaded phone call, making 2021 one of the nastiest years when it comes to releases. Some requested their own release, but the absolute majority were blindsided by the news. Thankfully, many found a job elsewhere, be it in AEW, Impact Wrestling, or the independents. Some are even thriving and doing better than they were in WWE, confirming what many have said before, it's not the end of the world if you get released by WWE. The full list in alphabetical order of those who departed WWE in 2021 is as follows: Aleister Black, Alexander Wolfe, Andrade, Ari Sterling, Ariya Daivari, Arturo Ruas, Ashante Adonis, Asher Hale, August Grey, B-Fab, Billie Kay, Bo Dallas, Bobby Fish, Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Bronson Reed, Buddy Murphy, Chase Parker, Chelsea Green, Curt Stallion, Denzel Dejournette, Drake Maverick, Ember Moon, Eva Marie, Ezra Judge, Fandango, Franky Monet, Giant Zanjeer, Gran Metalik, Harry Smith, Isiah Scott, Jake Atlas, Jaxson Ryker, Jeet Rama, Jeff Hardy, Jessamyn Duke, Jessi Kamea, John Morrison, Kalisto, Karrion Kross, Katrina Cortez, Kavita Devi, Keith Lee, Killian Dain, Kona Reeves, Lana, Lars Sullivan, Leon Ruff, Lince Dorado, Marina Shafir, Matt Martel, Mercedes Martinez, Mia Yim, Mickie James, Mojo Rawley, Nia Jax, Oney Lorcan, Peyton Royce, Ruby Riott, Samir Singh, Samoa Joe, Santana Garrett, Scarlett, Shane Thorne, Skyler Story, Stephon Smith, Steve Cutler, Sunil Singh, Tegan Nox, Tony Nese, Tony Storm, Top Dolla, Trey Baxter, Tucker, Tyler Breeze, Tyler Rust, Vanessa Borne, Velveteen Dream, Wesley Blake, Zayda Ramier, and Zechariah Smith.
2021 was the year of Drew McIntyre as the Scottish Warrior led the WWE chart with the most matches for this year according to data collected by CageMatch.net. The former two-time WWE champion had 99 matches across RAW, SmackDown, pay-per-views, and non-televised live events, winning 75 of them for the highest percentage of wins among the roster as well. Jey Uso, with 83 matches, and Bianca Belair, with 82 matches, were second and third while Riddle and Charlotte Flair wrapped up the top five with 81 and 80 matches respectively. Finalizing the top 10, WWE champion Big E is in sixth place with 77 matches, Jimmy Uso is at 74 matches and seventh, AJ Styles in eighth with 71 matches, Bobby Lashley in ninth with 70 matches, and Sheamus with 66 matches in tenth.
Jungle Boy and Tay Conti had the most matches in AEW in 2021 across "Dynamite", "Rampage", the two Dark shows, and pay-per-views according to data collected by CageMatch.net. In total, the 24-year-old Jungle Boy and 26-year-old Conti wrestled 53 times each during this calendar year, with Conti having her final match of the year airing on the final episode of "Rampage" for 2021. Evil Uno of The Dark Order was second with 52 matches and Max Caster was third with 51. Nyla Rose, Orange Cassidy, and Serpentico tied in fourth place with 50 matches each and Penta El Zero M and 10 of The Dark Order wrapped up the top five with 47 matches each. Finishing the top 10 list are Anthony Bowens and Matt Sydal in sixth with 46 matches, Thunder Rosa in seventh with 45 matches, Brian Pillman, Jr. and Isiah Kassidy in eighth with 44 matches each, Red Velvet in ninth with 43, and Alex Reynolds, Eddie Kingston, and Stu Grayson of The Dark Order in tenth place with 42 matches each.

Jim Ross will be receiving the Gordon Solie Award at the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame.
AEW announcer Jim Ross announced Wednesday on Twitter that he is now cancer free. "I’m CANCER FREE! We did it!" Ross wrote in a post. Ross was diagnosed with skin cancer in October and started the 22 radiation treatments in November. This was his second bout with skin cancer after he had already beat it in 2016. Ross initially did not want to miss any time from work during treatments but then took the better decision to step away from his duties to concentrate on getting better. He set a target to return on the December 29th broadcast, which was live from Jacksonville, FL. JR was back behind the microphone calling the action. Ross also underwent surgery on his back earlier in November to remove two spots. His skin cancer was initially found in a growth near his ankle. After returning, he tweeted "My sincere thanks to everyone who has supports @AEW and my return from my skin cancer ordeal. Pro wrestling fans are the best!"
Keith Mitchell, a long-time producer and director, worked his final night in that role last week and retired following the "New Year's Smash" episode of "AEW Dynamite". With a career spanning 40 years across WCCW, WCW, Impact Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling, Mitchell was in the TV truck directing some of the most important events in pro wrestling history. He never worked for WWE and attempts to lure him there over the years proved unsuccessful. After "Dynamite" went off the air, Arn Anderson, Sting, Dustin Rhodes, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, and Tony Khan brought out Mitchell and his wife in the middle of the ring for a final goodbye.
Thunder Rosa spoke with Mick Foley for parts one and two of a “Tacos with Mick Foley” vlog on her YouTube channel. Part One is found here and Part Two can be found here.

Yes I’ve gotten Covid-19!!!!!" and "Yes after not going to do my AEW work for nearly 3 months. Tony Kahn knows I’m high risk and has gone above and beyond all expectations trying to keep everyone safe. Pretty sure I got it from family or when I was out shopping." Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
