Beth Phoenix returns to WWE TV at Day 1

Beth Phoenix made her WWE return tonight at Day 1, aiding husband Edge during his match with The Miz.

Miz throughout the match had plenty of help with wife Maryse at ringside. Towards the end of the match, Maryse hit Edge with a bag that allowed Miz to score a close pinfall following a skull crushing finale. As Maryse was arguing with the referee on the apron, Phoenix appeared on the entrance ramp and headed toward the ring, driving Maryse away. Miz and Phoenix exchanged words as Edge recovered. When Miz turned around, Edge hit the spear and pinned Miz to win the match.

Phoenix had been an NXT commentator from 2019 until last month, when she announced that she would be stepping away from announcer duties. Her last appearance was at NXT War Games.

Edge has been feuding with Miz since he was traded to Raw as part of the 2021 WWE Draft. When The Miz returned to WWE television, Maryse returned as well, with the current feud revolving around Miz & Maryse's relationship.
