Guevara-Rhodes TNT title match set for AEW Rampage Holiday Bash

Sammy Guevara will defend the TNT Championship against Cody Rhodes on the AEW Rampage Holiday Bash, airing Christmas night on TNT.

The match was set up on tonight's AEW Dynamite. Guevara came to the stage for a promo, but was quickly interrupted by Rhodes's music. Rhodes said that AEW GM Tony Khan had made the match official, and wished Guevara luck.

Rampage will air on Saturday, December 25 rather than on Friday that week. AEW announced today that the Wednesday, December 22 Dynamite and the Christmas night Rampage will be their annual Holiday Bash episodes. Dynamite will air live from Greensboro, North Carolina, while the Christmas night Rampage will be taped on the 22nd after Dynamite.

Rhodes is a two-time former TNT Champion, and was the first to hold the title after winning a tournament final to crown the inaugural champ at the 2020 Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Guevara has held the TNT title since defeating Miro on the September 29 Dynamite.
