Ricky Morton Says In Three Weeks He Could Turn Cody Rhodes Into The Hottest Babyface Or Heel In The Country

Ricky Morton says that he could turn Cody Rhodes into the hottest babyface.. or the hottest heel, in the country in three weeks.

Cody Rhodes has been drawing mixed reactions from the AEW fans for some time now, and this past week in Atlanta, Cody’s hometown, wasn’t much different. Despite all of his effort to get over as a top babyface in the company, the AEW fans haven’t quite bought into it.

Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton talked about Cody Rhodes odd dynamic and reaction from the AEW fans on a recent episode of the WB Podcast.

“If I was back there, in three weeks I’d have Cody Rhodes the hottest babyface in the country. Or, I could have him the hottest heel in the country.”

“I’m 65 years old. I’ve wrestled the independent circuits and we do big business…I make more money now than I ever made in my life. And I’m 65 years old [and] wrestling because I know how to make people come back. It’s not about what I can do or what move I can do. It’s not that. It’s about, ‘I know how to get the people to come back to see my show’.”

On this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, we saw Cody Rhodes suplex Andrade El Idolo through a flaming table, a spot which was done to seemingly compete with the last time Cody wrestled in Atlanta, which saw him perform a moonsault from the top of a steel cage. However, even fire couldn’t completely win over the crowd, once again drawing a mixed reaction for Cody, even in his hometown.
