Jim Ross announces skin cancer diagnosis
Posted: Oct 24th 2021 By: Bryan Rose
Jim Ross revealed on social media today that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer.
Ross, 69, wrote on Twitter confirming that he had skin cancer, writing that radiation was likely the next step. He will still be at tonight’s AEW Dynamite event in Orlando, Florida.
“On my way to Orlando for tonight’s @AEW Dynamite,” Ross wrote. “Skin cancer confirmed. Waiting on radiologist study to determine best treatment. Likely radiation. Feeling great and ready to attack. Thanks for the support from so many.”
On Thursday, Ross wrote that he was undergoing a CAT scan for a potential skin cancer issue. He mentioned that he had been dealing with this issue for over a year. He had previously been diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2016, with surgery in 2018 taking what was left of the cancer out of his shoulder.
Ross, a longtime announcer for WWE, was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2019, he joined AEW as a commentator for Dynamite along with Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.
