Sting To Wrestle On TNT For The First Time In 20 Years

On next week's edition of AEW Dynamite, WWE Hall of Famer Sting will wrestle on the TNT network for the first time since 2001.
In what will be his first match on TNT for the first time in over 20 years, "The Icon" Sting will team up with his protege Darby Allin to take on 2.0 (formerly known as Ever-Rise in WWE) on next week's edition of AEW Dynamite.
On this week's Dynamite, Allin went one-on-one with rising star Daniel Garcia, who was accompanied to the ring by 2.0 (Matt Lee & Jeff Parker). Despite the efforts of 2.0, Alin won the match with a Coffin Drop. 2.0's attempts to interfere in the match drew the ire of Sting, who proceeded to manhandle the two ragamuffins.
The Stinger last wrestled on the network in the main event of the final episode of WCW Nitro way back in March 2001, when he defeated Ric Flair.
As you might recall, Sting debuted for WWE in 2015 and worked a program with Seth Rollins before an injury forced him to retire. But he wasn't done.
Sting shocked wrestling fans across the globe when he debuted in All Elite Wrestling back in December of 2020. At first, it wasn't clear if he intended to get back in the ring or not, but at AEW Revolution in March, he took part in a cinematic tag team street fight in which he teamed with Darby Allin to take on Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. The match earned rave reviews and earned Sting his first victory in a ring since 2015 ... but he still wasn't done.
A rematch took place at Double Or Nothing in May, but this time, the match took place in front of fans. Once again, "The Icon" showed that he's still got it as he propelled his team to victory.
Next week, Sting will get another opportunity to prove to the world that, despite being 62 years old, there's still plenty of gas left in the tank.
