Birthday Bash Gone Bad! Where is Aerokid?

Birthday Bash Gone Bad! Where is Aerokid?

Posted: Jul 6th 2021 By: CMBurnham

Second generation superstars are nothing strange in the world of professional wrestling. Entire family dynasties have been well known in this sport, from the Von Erichs to the Harts. But the bond between a father and a son (or sometimes daughter)who share the ring is still very special. Most of the time those sons have to wait until they are of legal age to be trained and participate, but there have been known to be exceptions.

One of those exceptions in the Oklahoma circuit is Aerokid. The son of pro wrestler Paul Puertorico and grandson of pro wrestler Tarantula, Aerokid has accompanied his father and the various other members of Space Age to the ring, primarily at WFC, but also in other federations. Fans have come to love the tiny superhero and he has demonstrated much of the same bravery outside of the ring that his father shows inside the ring.

Sadly, Space Age seems to have seen its last days as most of the members of have gone their separate ways. And June 26 saw two former members in the match as Puertorico and Elijah Sparks were two of the five combatants vying for an opportunity at the WAH Spotlight Title on July 31st. It had already been a bad day for Sparks as he and El Greengo Loco had lost the WAH Tag Team Titles to Most Wanted. Sparks seemed rather upset about the loss, verbally berating El Greengo after the match. And when he came out for the 5-Way Elimination Qualifier, it was a more aggressive Sparks. A Sparks that had not been seen in WAH since the Dumpster Match against J. J. Hefley back in November, 2020.

The match actually came down to Sparks and Puertorico. And as often is the case where former tag team partners face off, their knowledge of each other’s tactics make it difficult to put a strategy together. That said, there is no real substitute for experience and Puertorico has plenty of that. So in the end, Puertorico came out victorious, moving one step closer to his first championship gold in WAH.

And all of this came on his birthday. Winning a wrestling match would probably have been enough to be happy about, but the Lost Boys, Kodi Ocean and Spike, had different plans. They had arranged with WAH management to get a cake and present it to Puertorico after the match. And long-time fans know that if a birthday cake is involved in wrestling, it almost always ends up on the face of the birthday boy. This was no exception to that rule, although Puertorico was cautious and it wasn’t until he was about to eat a piece of it that he got cake up the nose. Still, a fun time was had by all as father and son celebrated with friends and the WAH fans.

And as that celebration was over, Mistress Maria chose that moment to sneak up and kidnap Puertorico.

Puertorico wasn’t even aware that it had happened. It was the WAH fans that got his attention, but by that point, it was too late. Aerokid and Maria were gone and no matter where he looked, Puertorico was unable to locate and retrieve his son.

This is the second time that Puertorico’s son has been the target of another wrestler. In WFC, Malico abducted and brainwashed Aerokid into thinking that the Leader of the Mad World was actually Aerokid’s son. Paul retrieved his son and the WFC Title in the first and only “Who’s Your Daddy?” Match in Oklahoma history. But al least that action had some rationale behind it. No one knows why Maria stole Aerokid. She has been kind enough to post pictures of him on social media, seemingly indicating that he is alive and well, but her motivations remain a mystery. Could this all be some evil plan of Samedi’s? Does he think he can get Puertorico to follow him by using his son as a tool? Or is this some unknown strategy of Menace [2nd]? Questions abound with few to no clues or answers. Whatever the actual reason, taking a child will only enrage the father. And whether it’s Maria herself or someone she associates with, they had best be prepared for the fatherly wrath to come down on them once Aerokid is located and back in Puertorico’s presence.
