IZW - A Night to Remember!
Posted: Oct 23rd 2007 By: IZW Staff
Impact Zone Wrestling has always been very unpredictable and very competitive, but this past Saturday, IZW took those two phrases to another level. On this night we would hear one of the most unexpected retirement speeches in IZW history, bear witness to the demoliton of a woman by her man, and watch one of the most gruesome injuries ever in Oklahoma's Wrestling history take place. To find out what were talking about just keep reading.
It started out innocently enough with Brad Michaels making his way to the ring to rub a little more salt in the wound of the recovering Impact Division Champion John O'Malley. I, like everyone else, had assumed up until this point that John O'Malley would return to the ring and deal with Brad on his own, but unexpectedly Brad's tirade was cut short when the ZorthoTron 420 began to play an interview with John O'Malley which turned out to be his retirement speech! He announced formally that yes, Brad Michaels had ended his storied career, but John O'Malley would get the last laugh so it seemed as he announced that due to his retirement the Impact Division Tiltle would be put into the IZW Championship Committee's hands and not Brad Michaels!
Then later in the show the ever together couple of Tommy Revell and Marianne Albright came to the ring after Tommy seeing Marianne come out of Michael Barry's locker room. However, this did not seem to be an issue as Tommy went about his business as usual in the ring as he dismantled Tyson Jaymes and showed why he is the #1 contender to the IZW Champion. After the match, Tommy called Marianne into the ring and told her and the crowd he had some things he wanted to, no, he needed to say to Marianne. We all thought we were going to see one of the most romantic moments in IZW history as Tommy Revell took a ring box from the ringside attendant and got on one knee as if to propose to Marianne, then after having said many vague yet nice things, out of nowhere Tommy scooped Marianne Albright up and gave her a Spinebuster with so much force I am not sure we will ever see Marianne Albright again.
But the best would be saved for last as in the main event we were to be treated to an IZW Tag Team Championship Tables Match! And it did not disappoint, from the moment these two teams hit the ring it was a fight. They didn't wrestle, they simply tried to completely destroy each other over the next 20 minutes. First, Team Shenanigans dropkicked Impact, Inc. into the rails with the use of a table on the apron, then John Z orthos looked ready to legdrop Tyler Bateman through a table only to have Kenny Campbell move it at the last second and cause Johnny Z to bruise his bottomside, then we had Kenny almost being driven off the apron through a table by Bernie Donderwitz but Tyler would kick some sense into Bernie at the last second, and then as Tyler went to spring over the top rope and onto Johnny Z, Bernie caught him with a forearm right at the top rope only to seconds later have Kenny Campbell fly off the ringpost to the outside onto Impact Inc. This would be the beginning of the end, as from there both teams made it back into the ring only to have both teams barely miss going through tables in the corners, finally leading up to Tyler and Johnny Z being on the floor and Bernie setting up a table on the top rope and one in the ring, Bernie would then take Kenny to the top table and give him a Russian Legsweep through the table in the ring, but they both went through at the same time so the referee eliminated both men. Johnny Z made his way into the ring to check on Bernie at this point and while doing so Tyler slipped in behind him, when Johnny Z turned around Tyler went for a kick which Johnny ducked and Tyler knocked out the referee instead. Johnny Z would quickly capitalize on this by nailing Tyler with a reverse DDT and then setting Tyler on the top rope while he was groggy. This is when it got bad, Johnny Z noticed the table was too far out and turned to pull it in only to have Tyler Bateman jump from the top rope and with all his force he tried to double stomp Johnny Z through the table from behind. The sound that was heard was sickening in itself, the sight would be even worse. Johnny Z's nose had split wide open from the force of the stomp when his face hit the table, but all the blood and gore did not stop Tyler as he put Johnny Z back on the table and successfully stomped him through the table on his second attempt, but there was no referee to call the match and in this moment Brad Michaels would slip into the ring and superkick Tyler off his feet, then Brad set up a table in the ring and gave Tyler a piledriver right through the table as Johnny Z woke up the referee and Impact, Inc. were declared the winners of the match and new IZW Tag Team Champions.
So now, as Johnny Z recovers from his injuries his partner Brad Michaels must deal with the situation surrounding the Impact Division Title, and Marianne Albright will have to find comfort from someone other than Tommy Revell. And so, as we wait to see the fallout from the events of this past week we are sure that this night will not be forgotten by the fans or these wrestlers. And we can only ask the question, what will happen next in IZW?
As you can see Impact Zone Wrestling continues to be very unpredictable and highly competitive and after everything that happened last week one can only guess what will happen next. But one thing you can count on is that every second of an IZW show will be filled with excitement, drama, and the best wrestling action in the state. So if you want exciting wrestling and high flying hard hitting action then be at IZW EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT! 5325 S. Penn, Oklahoma City $5 All Ages (3 & Under Free)
