Many Expressed Support For Sammy Guevara Declining Impact Wrestling Angle

A lot has been made over Sammy Guevara’s nixed Impact Wrestling appearance. From the moment it leaked he had been pulled from an appearance, a lot of people had started to believe there were issues that had put Sammy in hot water with AEW management, in addition to the worries that AEW and Impact Wrestling had their relationship damaged. However, the more information that unfolds, the more people are starting to think Guevara passing on the idea may have been far better than we first realized.
Black Taurus becoming part of Decay on Impact recently have many fans speculating that the spot was supposed to go to Guevara, as many details have revealed that Guevara was replaced creatively by Black Taurus in the plans. If true, this would have had Sammy on this past weekend’s No Surrender pay per view.
Guevara’s choice was discussed on Wrestling Observer Live, where Bryan Alvarez talked about how people who knew what Impact had planned for Guevara aren’t mad at him for passing on the storyline. While it’s still unrevealed what was planned, it’s possible joining Decay was one of those ideas.
“What I can tell you is that there were people who were sympathetic for Sammy Guevara when they heard whatever the idea was they were like, ‘dude that was a bad idea.’”
There’s no heat between the two companies and it’s now been reported there’s no heat on Guevara after initially reporting he was in hot water over the incident. They are now reporting nobody is blaming Guevara and everything is well in the situation. Good to hear that things panned out alright for all parties involved.
