NEWS
Ethan Page was not happy with the Ethan Page vs. Karate Man match that was on Impact Wrestling's "Hard to Kill" pay-per-view show. Page is no longer with the company and said he had no idea how the thing would be edited until he saw it. He posted on social media "I’m going to take a full blown break from social media. I’ll be staying active on my personal Patreon as much as I can & probably in this group too cuz I love the fig life & u guys. Xoxox. But man .... last night sucked. I’m so embarrassed with how IMPACT! lazily edited that segment last night & forced it to be a joke. I felt the thought of the same guys fighting each other was comedy enough & the more serious we took it the better the reaction would be. But cuz I left the company, they lied to my face & just did what they wanted the whole time. I’m sorry if any of my fans paid for that PPV & felt cheated. I honestly feel the free version I gave away was made with more love, care & attention to detail. Sadly I had no control over the creative or the final product & the editor refused to send it to me beforehand .... so I saw it live with you guys & was surrounded by family. All scratching their heads at that high school project level delivery on a PPV. I pray ppl know I didn't edit that hot garbage. I actually begged IMPACT! Not to even have Karate man on tv. I only wanted it for my YouTube channel. But ... we don’t write the shows. We just get the scripts & do our best. Idk what else to say. Breaks my heart this company refuses to respect its talent or it’s fan base on a regular basis. I tried. Oh well! Life goes on. That door is closed. Now let’s focus on what’s next. Hope you’re all well. I love all of you for supporting me & helping promote my projects. Because without you guys, karate man wouldn’t have been anything haha. I’m gonna just focus on the good that came of him for my social media & my personal channels. He’s gone now & May he live on in GOOD videos edited by the person who created him. Not stolen by a greedy company trying to capitalize on someone else’s hard work & creativity. Sorry if this comes off so negative. I know I’m usually a positive light for my fans ... but today, I need to just be honest. I was lied to. I was hurt. I was disrespected. And I need a break from it all."
Love Julian".
Everyone it seems is getting hyped for Simon McQuoid’s upcoming adaptation of "Mortal Kombat". So it’s no wonder that some people (such as the wrestlers of Impact Wrestling) have put their enthusiasm on display. On Twitter, Impact Wrestling posted a series of videos showing The Karate Man defeating Ethan Page, and finishing him off by ripping his heart out ala Kano’s fatality from the original game. The Karate Man also performed Liu Kang’s classic Bicycle Kick on Page, as well as teleporting in a puff of smoke.
Wayne Mattei, the former leader of the Bullet Kliq in Australia, will be playing the role of Sgt. Slaughter in the NBC TV series "Young Rock."
Impact Wrestling's new line of Micro-Brawler figures is now available on their official online store. The first series of figures is a bit of a random list and includes Doc Gallows, Jordynne Grace, Eddie Edwards, Moose, and Abyss.
O. D. B. will be returning to Impact Wrestling soon.
The Pat Patterson documentary debuts today on the WWE network.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and his Royal Rumble challenger Goldberg will both be on next week’s RAW, their final stop before the pay-per-view match. McIntyre missed the past two RAW shows due to being infected with the coronavirus but it looks like he will be good to go for next week. Goldberg was hyped for last Monday night’s RAW as part of "The Dirt Sheet" segment but it ended up being just Gillberg as The Miz and John Morrison made fun of both Goldberg and McIntyre, with The Miz claiming that he’s “next” and will cash in at the Rumble.
A. J. Styles is undoubtedly one of the top Superstars in WWE currently. He has competed in some of the best matches in recent memory, particularly his matches against John Cena. Styles recently spoke on WWE's "The Bump", where he discussed his WWE Championship match against John Cena at the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Cena managed to beat Styles for the title and became a 16-time World Champion, tying Ric Flair’s record. Styles said that he was proud of that match and it was the best match he has ever competed in.
2K announced Thursday the debut of the Royal Rumble ‘21 card tier in WWE SuperCard, the collectible card-battling game from Cat Daddy Games. The new tier features 60+ WWE Superstars, Legends and Hall of Famers, including the debut of Dominik Mysterio as part of a new quest, plus A. J. Styles, Edge, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, Adam Cole, and more. In addition to the new card tier, from January 20th through February 2nd, WWE SuperCard players can experience a series of Royal Rumble themed in-game events, boosts and bonuses. Players can retrieve a free rewards pack in the in-game store when they login between January 26th at 12 noon and February 2nd at 11am Pacific time. This pack contains a Rey Mysterio Royal Rumble ‘20 card, a cardback, 1000 SuperCoins, and 25 draft picks. Limit one per account. Available in all territories where WWE SuperCard is available.
Jim Cornette gave a harsh reaction to a recent opinion made by Ryback. The former WWE star responded to a message to the WWE on FOX Twitter account, which is where he noted that he sees WWE titles as props. Cornette saw the take and gave his own by writing the following on Twitter: “Another disrespectful piece of sh*t–AKA @Ryback –who would never have been allowed in the business before it all went to Hell. Hey Fat Guy, if you’d said this in public 30 years ago, your fellow “entertainers” would have kicked the shit out of you & rightfully so. F*ck you.”
Joey Ryan, probably the one hardest hit from the #SpeakingOut fallout, doubled-down on his innocence in a tweet this week, saying he has not committed any crime. Ryan was accused by several women and ended up losing his job with Impact Wrestling and his indie promotion Bar Wrestling closing up as well due to the serious allegations of sexual abuse and improper behavior. Ryan has since filed half a dozen lawsuits against some of the accusers as well as a $10 million lawsuit against Impact Wrestling for breach of contract. "I have not committed any crimes. I have never been investigated for a crime. There has never been any evidence connecting me to a crime. I have never even been a person of interest in a crime. It is bizarre that some would expect me to live my life like a criminal," tweeted Ryan. Back in June, Ryan admitted that he did not always treat people with respect, acknowledged that it was possible that he pursued people that he thought were interested in him and invaded their personal space and made them feel uncomfortable in the process, but flat out denied of ever sexually abusing anyone. The 41-year-old has not wrestled since the beginning of June, with his last match being against Crazzy Steve on an episode of Impact Wrestling.
Alex Podgorski of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story entitled "Joel Deaton is proof that hard work pays off" which you can read by clicking here.
