NEWS
The lawsuit that has been going on for years between Jeff Jarrett and Anthem over the Global Force Wrestling tape library was settled out of court on January 8th according to PWInsider. The terms of the settlement were sealed.

MVP was voted Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Comeback of the Year in their Year-End Achievement Awards.

WWE Network News revealed the synopsis for WWE’s “My Way: The Life and Legacy of Pat Patterson” documentary that premieres on the WWE Network on Sunday, January 24th. The synopsis reads “Pat Patterson and those who knew him best look back at his unlikely path to the top of sports-entertainment. From growing up a poor kid in Montreal, to finding fame in San Francisco and New York City and working side-by-side with Vince McMahon, Pat became the celebrated creative force behind some of the greatest moments and matches in WWE history.”

WWE uploaded the trailer for their "WWE Untold" episode on A. J. Styles’ 2016 Royal Rumble. The episode is premiering on the WWE Network on Sunday.

A. J. Styles & Omos, Jim Duggan, Mason Casares (a four year old who went viral for doing Steve Austin’s entrance on his birthday), Randy Jackson (who is promoting his new show Name That Tune), and Sheamus were guests for Wednesday morning’s episode of WWE’s "The Bump".

A. J. Styles faced off against The Undertaker at "WrestleMania 36, in what turned out to be Undertaker’s final match in the company. Now it seems Styles wants to face another legendary Superstar at the Show of Shows. Styles recently spoke to WWE Now India, where he was asked about his dream opponents at WrestleMania. Styles revealed that he wants to square off against Triple H at WrestleMania.“Triple H is definitely the next guy I’d like to face at some point if it could happen, maybe not. But it was an absolute pleasure to be in the ring, or not necessarily the ring, the Boneyard with the Undertaker.”

Ric Flair is back as a regular character. As noted, last Monday's RAW saw The Nature Boy help Lacey Evans defeat his daughter, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair, in singles action, and this time he wasn’t shy about it. Flair then celebrated with Evans as they left together. This angle came after Ric helped Evans pin Charlotte in a non-title tag team match the previous week, but acted like it was an accident. In an update, word now is that Flair is back on WWE TV as a full-time performer, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. There is no word on how long this run for Flair will last, or where WWE is going with the storyline, but Flair is back for the time being. Ric took to Twitter last week and made a post, but did not directly address helping Evans win. He wrote “A MAN Among Men! WOOOOO!”

WWE officially announced the "Superstar Spectacle" show for India, a two-hour television special event featuring WWE's Indian performers alongside Superstars from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. It will premiere exclusively on Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 3 and Sony MAX on India’s Republic Day, Tuesday, January 26th at 8pm IST, with commentary available in both English and Hindi. Instead of the Capitol Wrestling Center, "Superstar Spectacle" will be taped from the WWE ThunderDome and will feature WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Charlotte Flair, A. J. Styles, Bayley, The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Ricochet, and others plus an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. "We love the passion and support from the huge WWE Universe in India so we've teamed up with SPN, the exclusive home of WWE in India, to surprise our fans with an incredible event to kick off 2021," said Triple H, WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development. "WWE Superstar Spectacle will be an epic event with electrifying matches featuring some of the biggest names in WWE along with our incredible Indian performers, plus thrilling and authentic Indian-inspired entertainment." The talent from India set to be part of the show include Jinder Mahal (Indian descent), The Bollywood Boyz, Indus Sher, Jeet Rama, Kavita Devi, Giant Zanjeer and Dilsher Shanky, and Guru Raaj. Matches will be announced in the next few days. "WWE has consistently featured among the top watched sports properties in India over the years," said Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India. "We are excited about presenting WWE Superstar Spectacle to WWE fans and viewers in India on Republic Day which will showcase and celebrate the best of the next generation Indian talent in WWE." WWE is one of the most-watched sports properties in India, and India ranks #1 for WWE YouTube consumption and #1 in WWE Facebook followers. In addition, WWE has been actively recruiting elite athletes and performers from the country. In 2019, WWE hosted its largest tryout in history, where more than 70 top athletes from India showcased their abilities in Mumbai and four Indian recruits were selected to train at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The show was originally going to be a tournament among the Indian talent under the new NXT India brand but that has been apparently pushed back for the time

EC3’s run in WWE was far from memorable, as fans would agree he was largely underutilized. He was released by the company last year and returned to Impact Wrestling. Following a short run there, he eventually signed with Ring of Honor, where he is currently working. While speaking to WrestleTalk, EC3 discussed a possible angle with John Cena. He explained that he and Cena have a lot of similar traits.”Cena probably would be my top pick, because that’s another guy, but you know he’s making real movies now so, that’s cool. With him, I see a lot of similarities with him and me, and there’s differences, like I got to know him personally a little bit. But at the same time, he was kind of on that bubble at one point, but then it all switched for him, and he took off to become one of the biggest names of all time. I was on that bubble too, but it didn’t turn for me and I catastrophically got shipped out. So, there’s a great story there that’s real and resonates, like what could have been if these roles were reversed in a different time, whatever. That’s something I’d love to explore. Do I want him in the narrative? Yeah, I want him in the f**king narrative.”

The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Wichita Falls, TX has announced their induction class of 2021. It includes Man Mountain Dean and Paul Bowser for the Pioneer Era, Jose Lothario and Tiger Conway, Sr. for the TV Era, Tony Atlas and Tommy Rich for the Modern Era, Judy Martin and Juanita Coffman for Women, Leo Burke for International, Don Owens for Executive, The Rock-N-Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) for Tag Team, Skandar Akbar for Territory Era, and Ronnie West for Referees.

During a recent episode of "ARN", Arn Anderson spoke on how the rivalry between Cactus Jack and Vader was made by Mick Foley’s willingness to take punishment. He said "The key to the whole thing was, Cactus didn’t care. You beat him, abuse him, hit him with every piece of furniture in the building. It’s like the guy just would not stay down. He was just almost to a point of you could cripple him, but you couldn’t kill him. The guy just would not die. He would not stay down, and that made [Vader] even more vicious in all the stuff that he did. It was like Cactus built a career on getting slaughtered. It wasn’t because all the great offense he had and all the great storytelling, it was just the fact that the man would just take any amount of abuse you could dish out and at the end of the day, he was still probably the only one left standing."

Mick Foley is still recovering from his bout with coronavirus although is doing better than last month. After Foley contracted the virus, he had to quarantine for Christmas and New Year's and had to spend the holidays alone in a hotel room, missing out on the one holiday he really, really loves! He gave an update on how he’s feeling after testing positive for COVID-19 last month. He said “Many of you have been asking how I’m feeling after my positive COVID test. All in all, not too bad - but I get fatigued very easily, and my head still feels a little cloudy. PLEASE take this pandemic seriously - the daily death count is staggeringly high..and climbing. #MaskUp”. He also thanked all his well-wishers and added that if he got up from going through the cage during the Hell In A Cell match against The Undertaker, he's pretty sure he will "kick out of COVID!"

Calling all Bushwhacker/Sheepherder fans! John Crowther, who is working with the legendary tag team on their autobiography, announced that Luke and Butch will choose five of their favorite fan stories to include in the book. Fans can submit their stories/memories to Crowther by email at crowman71@aol.com. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2021.

Demolition (Ax & Smash) was scheduled for an autographs signing on January 16th but it did not take place due to Ax's grandson contracting COVID-19 and Ax and his wife began feeling sick with symptoms. Ax said that once he is better, he and Smash will make the trip.

Jake Roberts posted on Twitter "Well I’ve seen my lung specialist and was told my lungs will outlive the rest of me. Hooray!!! That is IF I don’t go back to smoking."

Mr. Nasty & D’Liscious were both diagnosed recently with COVID-19. Oklafan wishes them a speedy recovery.

Bobby Burns posted on Facebook last week that he was retiring from wrestling and has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolences to Jeff the Ref on the passing of his mother.
