Tony Schiavone to interview Sting on AEW Dynamite

Tony Schiavone will interview Sting on Dynamite next week.

AEW’s social media this afternoon made the announcement. The company had previously mentioned that Sting would be speaking on next week’s show.

Sting made his debut for AEW in a surprise appearance this past Wednesday at Winter is Coming. Team Taz (Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, and Brian Cage) were beating down Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin. Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes tried to make the save, but were also attacked. The arena then went black as footage of frozen landscapes were shown. Sting then emerged from the entranceway.

Team Taz retreated as Sting slowly entered the ring with his trademark baseball bat. He took the time to stare down Anderson, Cody Rhodes, and Allin before walking away. It was the first time Sting had appeared on TNT since WCW went out of business in 2001.

Sting’s contract with WWE ended this year and was a free agent prior to signing with AEW. He has not wrestled since 2015, suffering neck injuries in a match against Seth Rollins at that year’s Night of Champions event.
