Joey Ryan Files $10 Million Lawsuit Against Impact Wrestling

Former Impact Wrestling star Joey Ryan, real name Joseph Meehan, has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the promotion's parent company, according to a report from PWInsider.
The suit against Anthem Sports & Entertainment happens to be the sixth known one filed to date and alleges a breach of contract due to his being fired in the wake of the #SpeakingOut movement that saw him accused of sexual abuse and assault.
Joey was released by Impact on June 22 this year. His contract was set to expire next August and, according to him, decreed he needed to be informed of any issues in writing with a "5-day cure period." He claims the contract says if parties couldn't come to a resolution within the five days, he would have 30 days to sort things out with Impact and then another 30 days to leave if nothing was reached.
He's now suing, claiming the terms of the contract did not guide Impact's actions, and looking for $10 million, plus legal fees and other "relief."
Ryan is known to have filed five other lawsuits, with the others directed at his accusers.
"Joseph R. Meehan, known professionally in the world of pro wrestling as Joey Ryan, filed a lawsuit last month in Nashville, TN against Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem Wrestling LLC, alleging the company breached his contract when they released him in the wake of a number of allegations voiced against him on social media. This would be the sixth known lawsuit Meehan has filed in recent weeks.
Following that email, Meehan received a formal release notice (signed by Anthem Wrestling President Ed Nordholm) the same day (6/22), notifying him that the end of his contract was being “amended” to 6/22/20, thereby releasing him. That was followed by a public statement made by the company that they had terminated Meehan."
A Period Of Damning Accusations
The #SpeakingOut movement prompted shockwaves throughout the wrestling industry, with a number of pros accused of various sexual acts.
WWE's Matt Riddle was among those and his accuser's reportedly suing WWE for several million herself.
