Syndicate's Shenanigans Don't Pay Off Last Sunday

It's a frequent site in wrestling. When the referee is distracted, the bad guys switch without tagging. Then the referee argues and either forces the illegal man out or finally gives up the arguement and lets things continue. But then there are those special occassions. Such as when both members of a team wear masks, like the Killer Bees used to do. Or if both members are twins. And while Oklahoma sports 4 sets of twin tag team wrestlers, only one has the attitude to resort to underhanded tactics such as those to try and gain a win.

Shawn Sanders, accompanied by his twin brother Scott and their manager Shawn Matthews III, came to the MSWA ring Sunday to face off against Xavior. This was Xavior's fifth professional bout and he was certainly outdone in numbers and experience. But he had heart and he did everything he could to keep up with the cheating and illegal moves the three men across the ring used on him. Eventually, after a rally by Xavior, Matthews climbed up on the ring and distracted the referee, which allowed Scott Sanders to trade places with his brother and put down Xavior for the 3 count. Or so it appeared.

The one factor that hasn't been discussed in this story is that, in order for the "twin switch" to work, the twins have to look alike. And while both Sanders resemble each other in facial features and height, there's about a 40 pound weight difference between the two! And that was obvious to the fans, to Xavior and, thankfully, to MSWA commissioner Halo, who came out and reversed the decision. Halo said that he was watching the monitor backstage and while it's true that the camera adds 10 pounds, that still leaves a lot of weight to be explained for that to have been Scott. Halo then announced that since Scott was so anxious to get in the ring, he had set up a match against the South Side Soul Assassins and Scott could pick any partner he wanted....except his regular partner Shawn Sanders! Shawn would not only be banned from ringside, but if he so much as peeked his head out of the dressing room door, he would be suspended indefinetely.

When it came time for the match, Scott revealed that his partner was Shane Rawls. While Rawls was a good choice in terms of size and power, he & Sanders had no experience tagging together and they were facing over 700 pounds of a team that many believe are the uncrowned MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions. Rawls & Sanders put up a good fight, but in the end, the experience and size of 3rd Rail & Tyson Jaymes put another "W" in their column and another chapter was written in the South Side/New Age feud.
