Jake ”The Snake” Roberts is a legend in the professional wrestling business. Things were very different during his times as an active wrestler compared to now. Social media has changed a lot of things and Roberts can make out the various problems with the current generation of wrestlers.
Roberts is currently the manager for Lance Archer in AEW and the two are a force to be reckoned in the company.
Roberts spoke to Chris Van Vliet, where he talked about the current generation of talent. He criticized them by saying they do not know how to get over. They are unable to cut emotional heartfelt promos that connect with the fans.
“The talent today, they don’t know how to get over. Wrestling today is all for the visual. In my day, it wasn’t. It was through the heart. It was emotional. I wanted to hook you up emotionally. The difference is the visual lasts a split second and then the brain wants something fresh. But emotionally, if I hook you one time, I got you for the rest of your life.”
Roberts is certainly skilled on the microphone and has shown how capable he is during his time in AEW. Lance Archer will be competing in the Casino Battle Royal at AEW All Out and it is certain Jake Roberts has given him advice.
