The Voodoo That They Do So Well

The Voodoo That They Do So Well

Posted: Aug 25th 2020 By: Michael Hunt

There’s a spell that’s been cast over BPW.

A dark plague has emerged to challenge for the BPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles. A Dark Priest, a Dark Mistress and the Dark Twin. Together they have brought their dark magic to BPW and will not be satisfied until they take the tag team titles to their realm.

Months ago, we saw Samedi seemingly extract all the dark aspects of Gemini [2nd] from him and create this new being, Shadow Gemini. That Gemini has nothing but evil intentions and is happy to work with the voodoo master. And Samedi seems to want to return to his roots in BPW. When he first entered, it was with Rob Caballa as Legion, where they were handed the BPPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles by commissioner C. M. Burnham. Times and partners have changed, but The Ritual have set out to prove that they are nothing to be messed with. They defeated former BPW Oklahoma Tag Team Champions Los Loco Moscas in their first match in BPW, then disrupted a 6-Way Match for the BPW 365 Title and showed off their new abilities to capture control of opponent’s bodies. And that is part of what concerns the current Oklahoma Tag Team Champions, Size Matters.

While it is true that Sam Stackhouse & Mike Starr hold a victory over The Ritual, that didn’t mean the demonic competitors were done with them. Stackhouse could not help but remember when Samedi took control of his wife and brought her under the voodoo spells. And apparently Stackhouse got through to Mike Starr about that, but maybe not in the way he expected.

Two weeks ago, Starr mailed a book to Stackhouse. A beginner’s guide to voodoo (second edition). And Sam seemed to believe that this was something he could utilize. Just by repeating the words in the book, he could have the same level of control that they did. So while on the phone with Starr, Sam flipped through the book and found a spell marked “How to make your enemies disappear.” This seemed fortuitous and Sam received the spell in there.

And suddenly the line went dead. Sam was confused. Until he reread the title and discovered he had read the wrong spell and had actually announced one that was for how to make your FRIENDS disappear.

This was particularly bad because Size Matters was supposed to face The Ritual in a Non-title match that night, but if the Ritual won, they would get a title opportunity at the end of September. So Sam now had to go and explain himself to the crowd and more importantly to The Ritual. With owner Brandon Groom absent, C. M. Burnham was in charge and while he was sympathetic to the situation, he also wanted nothing to do with the Ritual when they came out. So Sam was left to face The Ritual in a Handicap scenario. And again, he tried to resort to the book, but his command of magic had not improved any and Sam could not overcome all the odds against him, falling prey to the dark arts and losing the match.

So now, whether he likes it or not, Sam has to face the Ritual. Rumor has it that Mike Starr has reappeared and hopefully for their sakes, Sam has disposed of the book. Or at least is trying to find some YouTube tutorials on voodoo control. Because if he continues to mess around with that, he will need some serious magic to keep the titles away from The Ritual’s control.
