AEW Said To Have Wanted Goldberg To Come In And Do The Streak Over Again

When AEW was first getting off the ground, and rumors were circulating as to who would potentially be joining the company, one huge name was mentioned.. Goldberg. It was said at the time that AEW was trying to get Goldberg on board through the help of his agent Barry Bloom, however that was not the case as another WWE run was in his future instead.
On a recent episode of the Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette talked about AEW and how they had originally tried to get Bill Goldberg and what the company’s plan was for the former WCW and WWE Superstar.
Cornette claimed that Tony Khan’s plan was to have Goldberg come in and do the streak over again in AEW.
“Goldberg was huge on Tony Khan’s want list. He wanted Goldberg to come out and do the streak over again. I mentioned how much you think he’s gonna charge for a 30-second job match? Probably the same as a main event PPV match.”
You can listen to the entire episode of the Jim Cornette Experience where he talks about Goldberg and AEW below.
