Tornado Warning For Legend Has It at “Sparta”

Tornado Warning For Legend Has It at “Sparta”

Posted: Jul 16th 2020 By: CMBurnham

BPW Oklahoma Tag Team Champions Legend Has It are many things. Brash, obnoxious, opportunistic. But now, some of those traits have put them in a situation they may not be able to get out of.

Since winning the belts from the Jet-Jitsu Dojo, Thrash & Killbane have been plagued by the presence of WFC Champion Sam Stackhouse and his new protege, Mike Starr. With Stackhouse & Starr having a huge size advantage, the tag champions have been reluctant to face off against them in the ring and there has not been a clear decision when they do. One tag team match between these two teams ended in a Double Countout. A similar situation resulted when Starr and Thrash faced off one-on-one, while another meeting of those two ended in a Double Countout.

It seems that whenever Legend Has It begins to feel that they are outmatched and their titles are at risk, they run. Or they cheat. And this past Saturday, in what was supposed to be a one-on-one confrontation between Starr and Thrash, it was the same thing. Killbane was lurking at ringside and Stackhouse did whatever he could to counter KIllbane. But the champions utilized this to their advantage, manipulating a situation so that Stackhouse got Starr disqualified for outside interference.

It seemed that once again, Starr and Stackhouse were going to come up short in their pursuits of the belts. But after that match, Stackhouse took the microphone and challenged the champions to a title match at BPW’s next big event, Sparta. That match would be a Tag Team Tornado Rules match. No tags, No DQ. No Countouts. All 4 men in (And out) of the ring at the same time. The champions didn’t seem to want any of this, but BPW owner Brandon Groom made it clear that he would not accept their refusal and that match was made official.

Sparta is just a little over a week away and the many of the tricks the champions used to retain their titles don’t seem like they will be helpful in this situation. But don’t underestimate LHI. In an environment where there are basically no rules, men with no remorse can thrive. Stackhouse and Starr may have the brawn, but they will certainly need to have their brains prepared to counter whatever treachery LHI brings.
