Cody vs. Jake Hager set for AEW Fyter Fest
Posted: Jun 11th 2020 By: Bryan Rose
A TNT championship match has been set for Fyter Fest next month.
After Cody successfully retained the title tonight against Private Party’s Marq Quen, Hager came out and immediately went after Cody’s manager Arn Anderson. The two brawled, with Private Party and Matt Hardy coming in for the save. Santana, Ortiz, and Sammy Guevara came out resulting in a eight man brawl that had to be separated by the referees. Cody then said it was clear Hager wanted a shot, and would give it to him at Fyter Fest.
Cody won the championship last month at Double or Nothing, when he defeated Lance Archer in the finals of a tournament to crown the first TNT champion. Cody made his first successful title defense last week, when he defeated Jungle Boy. Another TNT title match will take place on next week’s Dynamite.
This year’s Fyter Fest will be a two week event that will take place on TNT during Dynamite’s normal time slot, running on July 1 and July 8.
