There was a rumor circulating that Bobby Eaton was hospitalized recently with a heart condition. His wife Donna squashed these rumors. She posted on Facebook "Ricky Morton just called my phone and asked if Bobby was okay and I said yeah we just got back from the grocery store he said well there's a rumor going around that he's got heart problems and he's in the hospital so I took the phone to Bob and said Bob there's a rumor going around he said yeah I know I've had a bunch of phone calls this morning I was like oh okay well just want to let the world know that Bobby is very happy healthy and doing wonderful don't know how these rumors get started but good old Bob is in perfect health thanks for your concerns a lot of people messaging me on messenger and a lot of phone numbers I don't recognize coming in on my phone again thank you for all the love and support but thank the good Lord he's doing really well".
There's an axe-throwing contest being promoted for tomorrow night's RAW between WWE RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) & The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar).
Ryan Satin of the website Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that WWE Hall of Famer Sting is no longer under a WWE contract and is free to work wherever he wants. Sting’s Mattel figure was pulled from production and after some investigation from "The Major Wrestling Figure" podcast, Mattel issued a statement to them saying, “Due to circumstances out of our control Sting needed to be removed from Legends Series 7. We’ll look to include this figure in a future wave if he becomes available to us again.” Sting, who rarely uses social media, started being active again, with one notable Money In The Bank tweet and two related to All Elite Wrestling, raising some eyebrows. Cody also replied with a GIF when "The Major Wrestling Figure" podcast issued the statement from Mattel, suggesting that AEW is scooping up the former WCW World Champion. Sting started working for WWE in 2004 doing limited in-ring appearances. He eventually got his first and only WrestleMania match against Triple H at WrestleMania 31 and then had a WWE World Title shot against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions that year but he was seriously injured. He announced his retirement at his 2015 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Fans are wondering if Sting could be the next wrestling legend to join AEW after a Tweet he made recently. “Just glad to see you getting a much deserved shot in @AEWrestling," Sting Tweeted to Lance Archer. Cody Rhodes responded with a surprise emoji.
The most unique Money In The Bank Ladder Match which was filmed at the WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT had some special guests making cameo appearances. The first one to show up was Brother Love. It was Rey Mysterio who found him in the lavatory after he heard a toilet flush. Love, decked in his red and white suit, pulled up his zipper, told Mysterio that he loved him, and then washed his hands. Next it was Stephanie McMahon. As the ladies were fighting in a conference room, Dana Brooke retrieved a briefcase full of money hanging above the conference table. She celebrated like she won, but then McMahon came in and told her it's on the roof, not here. She also told Brooke to clean up because Jax was drooling on the floor and it was "gross." Another hilarious moment came when both the men and women stumbled upon Paul Heyman who was having a food feast by himself. Otis threw food at Heyman as everyone stood there in silence...before a food fight started between the men and women. Otis also had an encounter with John Laurinaitis while he was in the cafeteria and just before he was going to eat a pie, the former Raw GM showed up. Otis threw the pie in Laurinaitis' face. And last but certainly not least, a brawl took place in Vince McMahon's office. Both A. J. Styles and Daniel Bryan ended up in Vince's office and stopped when they realized the boss was there. Vince got pissed off and told them to get the hell out of his office. The two agreed and also rearranged his chairs that they moved while brawling before exiting like little kids from the principal's office. Vince was then shown putting on hand sanitizer before returning to work at his desk.
Mickie James recently challenged new WWE RAW Women’s Champion Asuka via Twitter. James wrote “Come to think of it @WWEAsuka I’ve NEVER been handed anything in @WWE before, especially a #WWE Championship… EVER! I’d be happy to come OVER & rightfully TAKE it from you. This time you wouldn’t be so lucky. I got your beat, raise you a sweet solo, now let’s duet!”
The May 5th episode of "WWE Backstage" on FS1 did 75,000 viewers. There was no data for the previous week's broadcast so it's impossible to say if it did more or less but since that show did not even chart anywhere, May 5th probably did something more. Meanwhile the four-hour block leading up to "Backstage" fared much better, with the Ric Flair special at 7pm doing 157,000 viewers, the Edge special at 8pm doing 213,000 viewers, the Brock Lesnar special at 9pm doing 255,000 viewers, and the Roman Reigns special at 10pm doing 198,000 viewers.
Ric Flair has apparently re-signed with WWE.
