Sammy Guevara-Sugar Dunkerton announced for AEW Dynamite
Posted: Apr 12th 2020 By: Ethan Renner
Sammy Guevara will face off with Sugar Dunkerton on this Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite.
This will be a tune-up match for Guevara as he prepares to face Darby Allin in the TNT Championship tournament quarterfinals at some point over the next few weeks.
Dunkerton drew the ire of Guevara's Inner Circle stablemate Chris Jericho as the former champion did color commentary on last week's show. Dunkerton, referred to by Jericho as Pineapple Pete, wore a colorful shirt adorned with pineapples while serving as an audience member.
Dunkerton, working under the name Suge D, debuted for the promotion on the March 24 edition of AEW Dark in a losing effort against Kip Sabian.
Also announced for this Wednesday's show is a no DQ, empty arena AEW World title match between Jon Moxley and Inner Circle member Jake Hager, the return of Britt Baker to singles action, and another quarterfinal match in the TNT Championship tournament as Lance Archer will face Colt Cabana.
Tony Schiavone and Jericho will again be on commentary for Wednesday's show with Jim Ross set to join the call for the championship match (taped in Jacksonville, FL) via his home studio.
