Re: Suspension of Combat Sports in Oklahoma
To All:
Regretfully I am informing you that all Combat Sports regulated by the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission to include Professional Boxing,m Professional Kickboxing, Professional MMA, Amateur MMA, and Professional Wrestling are hereby suspended starting today March 16, 2020 until April 30th 2020.
This action comes at the direction of the Oklahoma State Health Department and is necessary due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The situation will be re-assessed in 14 days and if the decision is made at that time to decrease or increase the time of the suspension of events you will be notified. This is a very fluid situation and is constantly changing.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email. The office will be working with a skeleton crew but will answer calls and emails. No state licenses will be issued during this time. However if you are in need of a Federal Boxing ID or a National MMA ID to compete in a location that is not under suspension we will accomplish that by email and snail mail.
Sincerely
Joe Miller
Director, Oklahoma State Athletic Commission
