MVP Says He's Finished With WWE

MVP Says He's Finished With WWE

Posted: Jan 30th 2020 By: Kavan Flavius - Sportster.com

By the looks of things, Montel Vontavious Porter's surprise return to WWE isn't going to be drawn out.

MVP completed a comeback during Sunday's Royal Rumble but his moment was short-lived as Brock Lesnar dumped him out of the ring 24 seconds after he got in.

The 46-year-old would later reveal his return wasn't for himself, but for his young son, whom he wanted to give a chance to see him in action.

According to Dave Meltzer, MVP had agreed to work one or two more matches and there were no long term plans in the works. He returned for Raw on Monday night, losing to Rey Mysterio, and it appears that the run is already over as he's taken to Instagram to announce that Monday's match was his last for WWE.

"My FINAL WWE match took place on Monday Night RAW against my close friend and legend @619iamlucha A great way to close out that chapter," he wrote. "The end of my career looms larger every month. It's been one HELL of a ride! I'm not finished just yet. But soon. Very soon. Thank you @wwe and the #wweuniverse for all the love!!! What an amazing week I've had."

Rey Mysterio has since posted a social media message in response to MVP's announcement, declaring it was an honor to be part of the former's last WWE performance, if that's indeed the case.

"Mad respect...... &...... if it was the last one in WWE, it was a pleasure and an honor to be part of that chapter!" he noted.

Nice On Both Of Their Parts

It appears that MVP is nearing a complete retirement and, if so, entering the Rumble and then getting into it on Raw was a pretty great way to call curtains on his affiliation with WWE in such a capacity.

WWE's allowing him to have these last moments is also pretty cool.

So, if this is goodbye, we'd like to wish him the best of luck in future endeavors.
