NEWS
Hulk Hogan and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair will be the special guests on Miz TV next week, an episode being billed as the season premiere of Monday Night Raw. The two were last seen together on the Raw Reunion show and will also be part of the 20th Anniversary Smackdown special next week on FOX. The news of their participation on Miz TV was also announced in a tweet by the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, the site of next week's Raw, to promote ticket sales. Flair is currently locked in a battle with WWE over the use of the word The Man, having filed for a trademark last month and requesting money from WWE to keep using it for Becky Lynch.

Mickie James was part of the commentary team for Monday night’s Main Event tapings. James underwent surgery for a torn ACL in July.

Joey Ryan and Masa appeared on the latest episode of Wrestlers on the Road Ordering Room Service with The Young Bucks. You can watch the episode here

The new era of WWE next week will usher in new broadcast teams for both Raw and Smackdown. Raw's newest announce team will be headed up by Vic Joseph who will be helped by former American football offensive tackle player Brennan Williams, otherwise known as Dio Maddin. WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler rejoins the team as analyst. Smackdown will have the old Raw team, with Michael Cole handling play-by-play along with Corey Graves as the analyst and Renee Young labeled as special contributor. NXT's team remains the same with Mauro Ranallo leading the broadcast booth with Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness as analysts. The change for Raw and Smackdown was expected as WWE will be separating both brands completely once again. Graves will stop pulling double duty, having been part of the Raw and Smackdown commentary team for the past few years.

Tickets for yet another controversial WWE Saudi Arabia show will go on sale this coming Monday, September 30. Taking place from the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Thursday, October 31, the show will be titled Crown Jewel again, with WWE’s top stars including Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, Roman Reign, The Fiend, and Brock Lesnar all advertised to appear. In addition, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and The Undertaker are also scheduled to make an appearance on the show. Tickets will be available through TicketMX.com and they start at 25 Saudi Riyals, which is less than $7. This is the fourth WWE event in a 10-year agreement that WWE signed with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The show will be live on the WWE Network and it will be interesting to see how WWE handles Smackdown the next day since the majority of the talent will be in Saudi the day before. Last time, WWE also took two women with them – Natalya and Alexa Bliss – but they did not end up wrestling after the Saudi government pulled the plug on the first-ever female match after initially giving the okay to proceed.

Starrcast IV in Baltimore during AEW’s Full Gear weekend will feature the reunion of Sting…and Robocop! Yes, that’s right. Robocop is returning to a wrestling event for the first time since 1990 when he appeared at WCW’s Capital Combat in Washington, DC to save the Stinger from an attack from the Four Horsemen. On that night, Sting was locked in a steel cage and Robocop came out and tore the door off its hinges as the heels backpedaled. For Starrcast IV, Sting will be appearing in his red, white, and blue face paint and jacket and carrying the WCW World title, otherwise known as The Big Gold Belt, for photographs. Sting worn the same outfit at Great American Bash 29 years ago when he defeated Ric Flair in Baltimore. Sting will be seen next on television next week as WWE celebrates 20 years of Smackdown on FOX. For more information and tickets for Starrcast, visit starrcast.com. The event will be held at Power Plant LIVE! at the Inner Harbor section of downtown Baltimore.

Jerry “The King” Lawler’s return to the broadcast booth as an analyst is only a temporary gig according to most industry insiders. Lawler was a surprise announcement after WWE this week unveiled the new commentary teams for both Raw and Smackdown. Lawler is teamed up with Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin. The WWE Hall of Famer is obviously no stranger to Monday Night Raw, having been part of the broadcast booth for the majority of Raw’s years on television along with Jim Ross. The speculation is that other individuals are being considered for a full-time role on the Raw broadcast booth once Lawler’s time is up. Meanwhile, PWInsider.com adds that Booker T is also a temporary host for the WWE Backstage studio show on FS1. Several WWE Legends were given a trip to Los Angeles to audition for the show and it looks like it will be a rotating role among WWE’s most popular Superstars of the past. FOX Sports will be handling the production for WWE Backstage rather than WWE and the show will not be live.

A new Hidden Gems show on the WWE Network is the April 8, 1990 Superclash IV show in St. Paul during the end of the AWA with Paul Diamond & The Trooper (Del Wilkes) vs. Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom in a cage match, Masa Saito vs. Larry Zbyszko for the AWA title with Nick Bockwinkel as referee, Kokina (Yokozuna) vs. Nord the Barbarian, Tommy Jammer vs. Tully Blanchard, Baron Von Raschke vs. Col. DeBeers and more.
