A documentary on the life of Adrian Street called "You May Be Pretty But I Am Beautiful" will have its world premiere on 5/16 in Wales at the Market Hall Cinema.
The lawsuit filed by Riki Johnson, the first husband of Ashley Fliehr (Charlotte) against WWE, Ric Flair and Charlotte Flair regarding comments made about him in the book "Second Nature" were officially settled out of court.
WWE Network News reported that 34 new episodes of Mid South Wrestling were uploaded to the WWE Network Tuesday. They will be from August 11, 1984 through April 27, 1985.
30 WWE Superstars in total swapped brands over the past two nights during the 2019 Superstar Shake-up. 16 went to the red brand while the rest, two less than Raw, went blue. Those who moved to Raw are AJ Styles, The Miz, Ricochet, Aleister Black, Erik and Ivar of the Viking Experience, Andrade, Zelina Vega, Rey Mysterio, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso of The Usos, Naomi, EC3, Lacey Evans, Eric Young, and Cedric Alexander. Six of those Superstars are from NXT while one is from 205 Live. Meanwhile, those who moved to Smackdown are Roman Reigns, Intercontinental champion Finn Balor, Elias, Bayley, Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Lars Sullivan, Buddy Murphy, Liv Morgan, Chad Gable, Apollo Crews, Mickie James, Otis and Tucker of Heavy Machinery. Four of these are from NXT and one is from 205 Live. With Liv Morgan and Chad Gable moving to Smackdown it means that the Riott Squad and the team of Gable and Roode are no longer.
The War Raiders, now known by the name of The Viking Experience, were the talk on social media this week following their Raw debut during the Superstar Shake-up episode. There happens to be a real Viking Experience in York in the United Kingdom as part of the JORVIK Viking Centre. On Tuesday, the Twitter account of the museum, also addressed WWE's recent name change thanks to their "full social media inbox!" In a tweet, the JORVIK Viking Centre wrote, "We arrived to a full social media inbox this morning... Seems like there are some mixed opinions out there but we can promise @WWENXT fans that you will always get an authentic #VikingExperience here!" They also joked that next time, WWE should give them a heads up before they change another name so they can be ready! Meanwhile, one half of the tag team, Erik, replied to the tweet saying, "We will be happy to share the #vikingexperience next time we visit Jorvik! We loved our last tour of your incredible museum!"
A lot of fans were taken aback by the War Raiders being rebranded as The Viking Experience. Now it has come out that it wasn’t the original choice backstage. According to PWInsider, they were originally going to be called The Berzerkers. However, the decision was then made to change the current NXT Champions to The Viking Experience.
The WWE Network put up what would be one of the few surviving television shows from Leroy McGuirk's promotion, a 1978 episode that included some taped matches from Georgia with Ernie Ladd and Ray Candy, plus squash matches with Jose Lothario, Paul Orndorff, Cowboy Bob Ellis, El Mongol and Ron Bass.
Two weeks ago, Brian Blair of The Killer Bees tag team, opened a GoFundMe campaign to help save the house of his former co-worker James “Kamala” Harris. Harris, now a double amputee with other health issues, had to pay $12,750 in taxes by April 15 or else the Tate County in Mississippi would take his home. The tax collection office extended the deadline by a few weeks, giving Harris until the end of the month to settle his bill. “State of Mississippi are satisfied. We are only a few thousand dollars short at this time. The very kind folks at the Tax collection offices in MS, have been kind enough to extend Kamala’s if we can pay these bills before the end of the month,” Blair wrote on the GoFundMe page in an update. And then, just like a superhero (without a cape), in came Chris Jericho who yesterday donated $5,000, the largest donation for Kamala. “God bless you James! Thx for the years of entertaining,” Jericho wrote on the page. Jericho’s donation led to another $300 or so in donations from fans, and now it stands at $14,790 from just over 300 fans raised in 16 days. You can still help donate more money by going to the link here.
Beth Phoenix will be wrestling in tag matches with Natalya on WWE European tour shows in Belfast, Brussels, Marseille, Newcastle, Liverpool, and London next month.
Jim Cornette discussed the Montreal Screwjob on this week’s episode of his podcast.
