Why Joey Ryan Won’t Be Signing With AEW Anytime Soon

Joey Ryan has developed a cult following much in the same way as The Elite. He has been featured on many episodes of the popular YouTube show ‘Being The Elite’ and was a featured performer at All In.

Joey Ryan also has a wrestling promotion he runs called Bar Wrestling. The Elite have shown up at many Bar Wrestling shows to work angles with Ryan.

It seems only natural that Joey would become an AEW roster member, with AEW’s Vice Presidents being The Young Bucks and Cody.

Ryan appeared on Matt Koon’s new podcast ‘Total Engagement’. Joey answered many questions and one response stuck out in particular. Koon asked, “So you have an affiliation with all elite and being the elite, you appeared on all in, is there any time that you’re going to sign an exclusive contract?”

Joey Ryan answered by saying:

"I am currently under contract with Lucha Underground. It’s not an exclusive deal so I can keep my independent bookings."

With a recent tweet from Joey in regards to Lucha Underground, it looks like he might be unable to join All Elite Wrestling for quite some time.
