Oklafan was remiss last week in not acknowledging the passing of Brian Adams, aka Crush. Adams began his career in the Pacific Northwest before debuting for the WWF the week after WrestleMania VI. He was made 1/2 (or 1/3 depending on which way you look at it) of the WWF World Tag Team Champions as part of Demolition. After losing the titles to the Hart Foundation, Crush engaged in a memorable feud with Randy Savage. He left the WWF for a couple of years, during which time he served some jail time for purchasing steroids and owning an illegal stun gun. He returned to WWF in 1995, although he never achieved the heights that he had in his first run. He was a member of the Nation of Domination, then formed his own rival faction, the Disciples of Apocalypse. After he left the WWF, he turned up in WCW where he used his real name and eventually joined the nWo. He was originally slated for the KISS Demon character and made one appearance as the character, but the gimmick did not work for Adams so the gimmick went to Dale Torborg. Adams then formed a tag team with Bryan Clarke known as Kronik. The duo held the WCW World Tag Team Titles twice before WCW shut down. Adams was briefly part of the WWF again during the Invasion angle, mostly due to a favor from his friend the Undertaker, but he was let go after on a few months as his performances were considered under par. Adams has 2 documented Oklahoma appearances. The first was in Oklahoma City in 1997, where he lost to Rocky Maivia (aka The Rock). The other was for WCW as he & Bryan Clarke defeated Kory Williams & Brian McNeil in the opening match of the last WCW card ever held in Oklahoma. Following his retirement from wrestling, Adams served as a bodyguard for wrestler-turned-rapper Randy Savage. At the time, the cause of his death was unknown, although Adams has had issues surrounding drugs and weapons in his past. Oklafan offers its sympathy to Brian Adams' family and friends.
