WWE Announces That AJ Styles Was Injured At Madison Square Garden Event; Latest Updates

WWE did an injury angle at the MSG Live Event. A. J. Styles was taken to the back by medics after Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked him with steel chairs, although Styles later came back out to help Shinsuke Nakamura.

Dave Meltzer spoke about it on Saturday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio and said that he had heard that that AJ was legitimately injured. Meltzer said that WWE announced before the WWE Live Event at Odessa that AJ had been injured at the MSG Live Event. He didn’t know more beyond that and the severity of the injury is not known at this time.

Meltzer added that AJ had probably been injured before the MSG show itself and the injury angle was to cover it up.
