Texas, Inc. Prepares To Feel the Impact Saturday Night

Posted: Aug 7th 2007 By: CMBurnham

The dominance of Texas, Inc. in Oklahoma cannot be denied. The first-ever Oklahoma Triple Crown Tag Team Champions have been on a roll since last December, when they defeated Sudden Impact to become the first ComPro Tag Team Champions. On St. Patrick's Day, they outlasted several other tag teams in a Tag Team Battle Royal to become the first SWCW Tag Team Champions. and 2 months later, then defeated Mass Destruction to become the NWA-U Universal Tag Team Champions (not the first, but they would be the last, as NWA-U ceased operations in June).

While they've been on an enforced "vacation" from SWCW since June, ComPro has resumed activities on a regular basis and the duo of Tim Rockwell & Bernard Funk, accompanied by Stevie Caballero, walked in Saturday, confident that things would be going their way. Originally scheduled to face Trailer Park Trash, plans changed when J. C.'s son was admitted to the hosptial with pneumonia. This left K. C. little time to find a replacement, but he did partner up with Michael York and the make-shift duo bravely stepped up to try and wrest the championships from the Texas tandem. As things looked bad for his team, Stevie Caballero grabbed K. C.'s foot, causing him to trip and gaining the attention of referee Tommy 3 Count. Tommy ejected Stevie from the ring, but while Stevie was pleading his innocence with the referee, Bernard Funk grabbed the new Texas, Inc. cowbell and planted it harshly on the side of K. C.'s head, allowing Tim Rockwell to cover for the pinfall. That should have been enough for Rockwell & Funk, but, as always, they never stop where they should and they took advantage of a dazed K. C., executing 2 spike piledrivers on him after the match. At this point, Sudden Impact entered the ring and Texas quickly left the immediate area. ComPro commissioner Kitty announced to the crowd that she was more than happy to set up a match between Texas, Inc. and Sudden Impact for the Tag Team Titles and that match would happen on August 11. Texas, Inc. was irate and while it was impossible to read any emotions on Sudden Impact's faces, due to their masks, their body language made it very clear that they were thrilled to have another chance to claim the titles.

Some people might say that Texas, Inc. has been the beneficiary of a deficient tag team division in ComPro. Factions such as New Canada and P.I.N.K. Nation are now gone. The Compound Varsity have their own tag team titles to deal with and have not made a push to become dual champions. ICF has thrown several combinations forward, against both Texas, Inc. and other combinations, but have had very limited success both in ComPro and SWCW. In FACT, since Texas, Inc. won the tag team titles, their most persistant challenge has come from Rico Suave, who teamed with both Pork Chop and Dexter Hardaway in losing challenges against the Lone Star natives. However, Sudden Impact holds a non-title victory over Texas, Inc. on March 17 and now hope to repeat that outcome next Saturday when the gold is on the line.

Stevie Caballero posted the following on the ComPro Message board regarding the title match: "August 11th, at The Compound, Texas, Inc. is going to show Sudden Impact just what price needs to be paid for getting into the ring with "The Ladies' Choice" Bernard Funk and "Terrific" Tim Rockwell. It's either a cow bell upside the head, or a spike piledriver, either way, it's the same old story: Texas, Inc. walks in tag team champions, Texas, Inc. walks out tag team champions. All Sudden Impact will be left with is a cracked skull and broken neck, courtesy of Texas, Inc!"
