7-30 WWE RAW
Beth Phoenix, Jillian Hall & Melina def. Mickie James, Maria (w/ Santino Marella) & WWE World Women's Champion Candace Michelle
Randy Orton was backstage with Todd Pettengill. He said he's dressed to compete, but no one seems to want to step in the ring with him. He reminded everyone that he put out Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair & Dusty Rhodes. Sgt. Slaughter stepped up and said he was willing to face Orton. Slaughter said he can't stand maggots and that Orton was a maggot. He told Orton that he was dismissed.
Jerry Lawler def. King Booker (w/ Queen Sharmell) by DQ. After the match, Lawler, who had won because Booker cornered him and refused to abide by the referee's decision, attacked Booker on the ramp until officials had to break them up.
Randy Orton def. Sgt. Slaughter. As he did to Dusty Rhodes last week, Orton delivered a running kick to Slaughter's head, knocking him unconscious and severely injuring him.
8-2 TNA iMPACT
Jim Cornette was questioning Christian Cage, telling him to look him in the eye and tell him that he had nothing to do with pulling Abyss under the ring last week. Cage swore he didn't. Cornette said Cage would rather climb a tree and lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. He ordered a tag team ladder match for later that night: Cage & A. J. Styles vs. Sting and Abyss. Cage said he couldn't compete in a ladder match because he had an injured ankle and a sore butt. Cornette said he was going to be in an oxygen mask next week if he didn't compete. Cornette went on to explain that he was putting a contract above the ring for a match between Abyss & Cage at the Hard Justice PPV. If Styles & Cage get the contract, they can rip it up. But if Sting or Abyss get it, Cage will have to face Abyss in a match where Abyss gets to pick the stipulation. Cornette then threw everyone out of his office, just in time for TNA World Champion Kurt Angle and his family to pass by. Angle's daughter dropped a piece of Angle's luggage and Angle said that would come out of her allowance. After they passed, Cage said Angle's wife had some "nice belts" (she had been carrying Angle's title belts over her chest) and suggested that she could carry Tomko's "toy" IWGP Tag Team Title belt. A. J. told Borash that he thought Angle's wife looked about 5 years old. Borash pointed out that Angle's wife was the bigger one. A. J. said he knew that.
Sting and Abyss were interviewed. Sting said if Cage & A. J. wanted to play, they'll play. They can put everything in: glass, tables, tacks. They might have a surprise as well. Abyss said there would be no more surprises.
Sting and Abyss def. Christian Cage & A. J. Styles in a Ladder Match, allowing Abyss to face Cage in a match at the Hard Justice PPV that he can name the stipulation on. Tomko interfered, but was countered when Andrew Martin made his TNA debut and supported Sting and Abyss.
8-3 WWE Smackdown
WWE Smackdown World Tag Team Champion Deuce asked a backstage technical assistant if he'd seen Cherry and the assistant said she went in the 1st door on the left. When Deuce arrived at that door, he almost had a fit as it read "Batista", but before he could enter, Cherry came out and Deuce verbally attacked her. WWE Smackdown World Tag Team Champion Domino ran up and told Deuce to forget about it because they had to discuss strategy for their match later. All 3 left and Batista walked up in time to see them leaving. Batista opened the door to his dressing room and Ric Flair emerged with a huge smile on his face. Batista asked what Flair was doing, but Flair just uttered a "Whooo!" before the 2 entered the dressing room together.
Ric Flair & Batista def. WWE Smackdown World Tag Team Champions Deuce & Domino (w/ Cherry) by DQ when WWE Smackdown World Champion The Great Kahli came to ringside, distracting Batista. This allowed Deuce & Domino to double-team Batista, leading to the DQ. Kahli then entered the ring and, when Flair came to his partner's defence, Kahli applied a clawhold, rendering Flair unconscious and then strode away victorious.
