Harley Race’s World Wrestling host first event in 2017 in Troy

Eight-time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Harley Race and his professional wrestling company, World League Wrestling, will be kicking of 2017 by hosting the first live event at the Race Wrestling Arena.

Since relocating to Troy, Race and World League Wrestling (WLW) have been running these family-friendly events at the renovated “Armstrong Fitness” to give the community something to enjoy at a cost that is affordable to everyone.

On Feb 4, WLW will be hosting “Ascension”, a one-night tournament that will crown a brand-new World League Wrestling heavyweight champion. Participants have been hand-picked by Race and staff to compete for one of the recently vacated championship.
“All of the young men involved in this tournament are in it for a good reason,” said Race. “They are good enough to not only compete in my company, but are good enough to become champion. The WLW heavyweight championship is among the most prestigious that can be achieved, because it represents the number one person of the company that I created.”

Race is an the 8-Time NWA world’s heavyweight champion, former WWE “King of the Ring”, and the greatest wrestler on God’s green earth.

“The credibility that I established day in and day out, I did it because I wanted to and because I loved wrestling. Now, these young men have the chance to become the number one person for my company – WLW,” said Race.

Among the participants involved in this tournament include Mathean Warrior Anthony (former NWA world’s junior heavyweight champion), Superstar Steve (former WLW heavyweight champion and former WLW tag-team champion; Leland Race (former WLW heavyweight champion, recently competed for New Japan Pro-Wrestling), Brandon Espinosa (Missouri state heavyweight champion), and more. All the participants in this tournament will be wrestling their qualifying matches, and the winners will be competing in the main event that night to win the WLW heavyweight championship.

Also, taking place that night will be for the number one challenger for the WLW ladies championship. Stacey O’Brien will be taking on Ms. Natural one-on-one in what will be determining the next competitor for champion Lucy Mendez on March 11 at WLW’s Pride & Prestige.

In his first defense of the WLW Jr. heavyweight championship, “The Hybrid Ace”, Jon Webb, is taking on Kyle Roberts. Webb is said to be itching to show people why he became champion, and on Feb. 4, he gets the chance to.

Returning from Italy, Karim Brigante will be taking on WLW newcomer Rex. Brigante has been on a recent terror, claiming that he is the best wrestler from Italy, even beating the reputation set by Bruno Sammartino. On Feb. 4 at the Race Wrestling Arena in Troy, Brigante promises to show WLW his capabilities in the ring.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and bell time is at 7 p.m. Hot concessions will be sold, and new merchandise for Harley Race (who will be attending the event) and WLW will also be available.
