Adam Thornstowe forced to leave SRPW
Posted: Mar 11th 2005 By: oklastaff
When Adam Thornstowe burst on to the scene of SRPW on September 11th, 2004, little did we know the potential that he had already shown on the West Coast. Afterall, he appeared at the side of Beau Dalton & Jack Dalton and actually wrestled for Beau in a match against Beau's younger sibling, Bobby Dalton.
But slowly but surely the fans, wrestlers, and staff of SRPW began to notice the skills of "The Trend". Prior to arriving in SRPW, Thornstowe had great success on the West Coast wrestling for various organizations. He has held numerous titles in California including the Coastal Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title (based in Reno, NV), the Supreme Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title, and the SPW Tag Team Titles. He has been successful in organizations such as Coastal Pro (based in Reno, NV), Supreme Pro, Revolution X, Empire Wrestling Federation, Pro Wrestling Iron, and North American Wrestling all based in California. It was in SPW that he met Jack Dalton. Jack had left Oklahoma behind for greener pastures. When the two met, they instantly clicked. Jack then contacted his cousin Beau and they hatched a plan to take over SRPW. Thornstowe put Kenny Campbell on the shelf for over 2 months using his dreaded Double Stomp on to Campbell?s head while it laid on a chair. When Campbell returned, Thornstowe tried in vain to put him out of action permanently. But in a match against Campbell on February 11, 2005, Thornstowe seemed to have a change of heart. Jack Dalton came down to the ring and slid the ringbell in to Thornstowe and told him to use it on Campbell. He did not and told Jack he was doing things his way. Campbell got the win in the match and the two combatants shook hands. Jack was livid and attacked Thornstowe. When it became common knowledge that Thornstowe had been contacted by WWE Talent Coordinator Tommy Dreamer about possibly joining the WWE developmental organization, the hatred boiled over. Jack Dalton, now being billed as Jack Legacy, challenged Thornstowe to a Loser Leaves SRPW Match while at the Tulsa Indoor Fun Fair. Thornstowe accepted and unfortunately lost the match. Thornstowe had just started tagging with Kenny Campbell and the two showed great promise and could have possibly won the upcoming SRPW Tag Team Title Tournament. But with his departure, Campbell now has to search for a new partner if he wants to enter the tourney. Dalton and Legacy, while gloating about the exodus Thornstowe, are no longer known as West Coast Inc. They have since changed their name to The Fantasy Express. Their plans for a takeover of SRPW may remain in place though. Meanwhile, Thornstowe continues to wrestle in Professional Championship Wrestling in Arlington, TX and he has also made appearances in Mid-South Wrestling Association in Oklahoma City, and for a Southern Championship Wrestling event in Muskogee. Should he in fact start wrestling in a WWE developmental organization, then the fans of SRPW can say they "knew him when".
