NEWS
Robin Leach, the former host of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous", recently sat down with an ensemble cast to jointly record a feature length commentary track for the "Nine Legends" film starring Mike Tyson, Goldberg, Bret Hart, and Chris Jericho. Branded the "Nine Legends 'Expansion Pack'", each legend is tackled by a different personality in which Robin Leach is tasked with covering the 80's WWE legend, the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. The two had worked together for a memorable episode of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" in 1988. In addition to this, Leach made an appearance at "Wrestlemania IV" the wrestling extravaganza that was hosted by Donald Trump in the now defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ. On that day Leach can be seen greeting Trump in the front row of the stadium before presenting the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event featuring DiBiase. In this exclusive preview of the "Nine Legends 'Expansion Pack'", Leach is asked about his relationship with Trump and in the course of the discussion, Leach notices a comparison between Donald Trump and the villainous "Million Dollar Man" character. Over the past few days, the stars involved in the "Nine Legends" project have taken to Twitter to promote the new Expansion Pack. A trailer for the new expansion pack can be seen by clicking here.
The daughters of a few pro wrestling legends are banding together to start their own wrestling league. According to TMZ.com, Brooke Hogan, daughter of Hulk Hogan, and Brittany Page, daughter of Dallas Page, are looking to start their own wrestling company. Page also said the daughters of Roddy Piper, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Kerry Von Erich are also on board.
Charlotte and Sasha Banks made history Sunday night, actually twice, by having the first women's Hell In A Cell Match and also main eventing a pay-per-view for the first time in WWE history. While it was those two in the ring, their fellow female Superstars were excited and proud to see them in the main event spot. “Congrats to @MsCharlotteWWE & @SashaBanksWWE on making history again & watching them make their dreams into a reality,” tweeted Lana, who earlier in the pay-per-view introduced her husband Rusev for his HIAC match. The Bella Twins called their match an epic and historic moment. “You had Brie & I on our feet the whole time,” Nikki wrote. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, one fourth of the Four Horsewomen, congratulated Charlotte on being a “history maker and ground breaker,” while Bayley, another part of the Four Horsewomen, wrote that she was nervous, excited, and proud but both Sasha and Charlotte were right where they belong, “in the main event making history.” Carmella seemed to have liked what she saw and tweeted, “Wow!! What. A. Match,” while Naomi said it was surreal what she just witnessed. “Hats off to @SashaBanksWWE @MsCharlotteWWE so proud from the entrances to finish they were amazing.” Former WCW star Missy Hyatt was also watching the show and wrote how emotionally invested she was. “Like the story they are telling. They work as if they really hate each other. Makes me emotionally invested in the story in the ring.” And Lita, who worked a lot with both women, got really emotional on the RAW Talk show following the pay-per-view and shed a tear when Renee Young asked her about her thoughts of the match. The overall feedback online was a positive one for the women main eventing the show and considering how good the two were, it wouldn’t be a surprise if there’s another set of women main eventing another pay-per-view in the near future.
