JR's Blog: JR's RAW Feedback, Taker-McMahon, AXSTV Debut Friday Night, Knockout Night at the D, @CBSSportsNet

Greetings everyone and thanks for stopping by our site. What a busy week here with some fun projects on tap. Tonight a new, Ross Report Podcast drops at 9 ET/6 Pacific on podcastone.com and iTunes with the married, wrestling couple of Maria Kanellis and Michael Bennett joining me for the first time. Of course, this Friday night I will be joining Josh Barnett on AXSTV for our first NJPW broadcast plus I will be Michael Schiavello's guest on 'Voice Versus' all airing on Friday night. Check your listings and join us if you can.

RAW FEEDBACK:

I watched part of RAW live from the recording studio I was occupying while recording our podcast and I made a point to watch parts of the show again via DVR after I arrived home.

While it was great to see The Undertaker on any WWE broadcast as we did Monday night I would have loved to have heard more from the phenom as to why he was essentially doing McMahon's bidding against VKM's only son at Wrestlemania Texas. The son's blood will be on the hands of the father was an ominous message but I needed a bit more information. I am looking forward to the Shane-Taker match and the subsequent build for this special attraction contest that will be held inside HIAC at the biggest event of the year and likely before 100,000+ fans in AT&T Stadium. Yes, I still think that WWE wil have over 100,000 fans on hand for Wrestlemania Texas, a title that was first named 'Wrestlemania Texas' on a Ross Report months ago. That might earn me a fee tee shirt.

It will be interesting as to who Shane's allies will be, if any, for this dramatic match that has more riding on it than many once perceived.

I also don't think that the HIAC match will go on last as that spot should be reserved for the WWE Title bout.

It's understood what WWE wants to accomplish with the LON faction but until the LON is put into positions that they can build their group as one powerful entity, the League of Nations won't be hitting on all cylinders. We need to see unity in a organic sense for fans to take this group seriously and not as a temporary entity as many currently feel. I am not a LON 'hater' but they need to build heat/angst on an ongoing basis as 50/50 like booking does them no favors either.

50/50 booking helps no one, IMO.

Nice work by Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, two of WWE's brightest stars in years, who will apparently be joining the division's champ, Charlotte, at Wrestlemania in a three person bout. I think that this booking is spot on.

Miz beating Dolph Ziggler is a head scratcher as it was a match that went a whopping 1:05. Who did this outcome, in such sudden fashion, help? Anyone??

Is Nattie the new Subway spokesperson? Certainly an improvement if true from the last person who had that gig. BTW, Subway would be better if they offered JR's Main Event Mustard on their sandwiches. Yep, I'm totally biased but the proof is in the taste.

I endorse WWE attempting to re-develop Ryback and make him a main event player to help their depth in that area. I've often said that if WWE followed the way that they booked Warrior or how WCW booked Goldberg that Ryback would likely get over to a much larger degree. Once he's over then more traditional booking philosophies can be reinstated for him.

AJ Styles and Chris Jericho add some much needed 'seasoning' to the tag team scene in WWE. They will make the New Day better as well. Also might have some damn good matches with the Dudley's.

The Dudley's-Usos presentation got 2:05 from bell to bell. Why?

IC Champ Kevin Owens went 2:30 with the Big Show in a match that ended in a count out. Help a brother out here, whose TV persona was enhanced in this booking?

Happy for the Freebirds for their WWE HOF induction this year at in Dallas. Cowboy Bill Watts had the vision to place Buddy Roberts into the Hayes & Gordy duo to create the legendary trio. Watts also put PS Hayes and yours truly together as a broadcast team in UWFof which many fans still remember. Michael was a great partner and I enjoyed working with him as he relished in being a legit villain and he was always considered one of the best talkers in the pro wrestling business. I'd assume that Kevin Von Erich will induct the 'Birds.

Would it have been better for Ambrose to catch a quick one on ADR before the HHH inspired beat down occurred? Just asking. I do like the set up for a HHH-Ambrose title bout on the WWE Network on March 12 which is also the same night that I make my CBS Sports Net debut on Knockout Night at the D in Vegas. Hopefully these two will give fans a 15-20 minute bell to bell classic.

This RAW was challenged to follow the return of Shane McMahon last week. I thought WWE was smart in having the return of the Undertaker at the top of the second hour instead of risking putting in the seemingly dreaded hour three.

Remember that our first AXSTV New Japan show will debut this Friday night at 9PM/8CT plus don't miss the special, Voice Versus with Michael Schiavello who grilled me good for our sit down chat.

As mentioned my first boxing event on CBS Sports Net is Saturday night March 12 from @theDlasvegas. I'm hopeful that wrestling fans will give our first show a listen.

Hope to see many old friends this weekend at a trio of stops including Friday night in Newburgh, NY for NEW Wresting and old friend Michael Lombardi, Saturday at the huge, BigEventNY at the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel and on Sunday in Joppa, Maryland for MCW and my pal Danny McDevitt where Jerry Lawler, Booker T and the Nasty Boys will join me as well. Hey, kids I'm bringing JR's Beef Jerky and new, snazzy 8X10's to Newburgh, NYC, and Maryland this weekend, too!
