Up-'n-Comer Nikki Knight Challenges The Bullet Babe for NWA World Title

Up-'n-Comer Nikki Knight Challenges The Bullet Babe for NWA World Title

Posted: Feb 18th 2016 By: Tribune Press Services

Champion Amber O'neal, the Bullet Babe from Georgia, returns to Sherman, Texas, on Friday night, Feburary 19, to defend her National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Women's World Championship against up-'n-comer Nikki Knight from Union City, Oklahoma.

The Bullet Babe claimed the NWA crown on December 18 of last year when she defeated Santana Garrett in a hard-fought title match in Sherman. She is the 25th woman to hold the NWA title, which was established in 1954 when June Byers defeated legendary champion Mildred Burke in a controversial, hotly disputed match in Atlanta, Georgia.

Miss Knight, an up-'n-coming star from Mustang, Oklahoma, will be appearing Challenger Nikki Knightin her first-ever World Championship match. ?Nikki is an amazing, phenomenal wrestler whose ring standing is just getting bigger and bigger,? NWA Texoma promoter Robert Langdon told The Tribune. ?Getting a women's world title shot is great for her.?

Nikki won the first-ever Mid-South Wrestling Alliance Women's Championship last month in Oklahoma City when she emerged victorious at the end of a five-woman tournament that included Killista, Nurse Sanity, Skylar Slice, and Violet Payne.

Team Imperialist, the experienced and angry duo of Charlie Haas and Griffin, will return to the scene of their defeat when they challenge the Sons of Texas, Moonshine Mantell and Killer McKenzie, for the NWA Texoma Tag Team Championship. The Sons of Texas wrestled the title from Imperialist last summer at Sherman and have fought off all challengers, including a decisive title defense last month against the McAllen, Texas, dandies The Bold and The Beautiful.

The great champion Tim Storm will defend his NWA North American Championship against Mike Foxx in a Title versus Career Match of profound import. Defending his title is standard fare for the fighting champ Mr. Storm, who never backs down from a challenge. But for Mr. Foxx, the stakes are legion.

"I'll never return to Sherman if I lose," Mr. Foxx announced in the ring last month after he brandished a tire iron to fend off the Sons of Texas, who had waylaid Mr. Storm after his succesful title defense against Danny Chance. The pledge was part of Mr. Foxx's plea for a title shot. "He's going to hang up the boots if he fails," Mr. Langdon said.

NWA Texoma Texas Champion APOC the Apocalyptic Menace will defend his title against challenger Mike Knox, who is known on the Total Nonstop Action circuit as Knux. "I've no intention of relinquishing my belt," APOC told The Tribune. "I'll send Knux back to Tampa beaten and broken."

Texoma fan favorite Jerome Daniels is matched against The Super Beast Chris Crotte, a California newcomer who is making his NWA Texoma debut. "His name is as appropriate as it gets," Mr. Langdon said. "He's a beast. Oh my God is he a beast!"

Dirty Andy Dalton is matched against NXT TV star Jesse Sorensen from Katy, Texas. ?TV star? You gotta be kiddin',? Dirty Andy told The Tribune. ?Sorensen's gonna be dead air when I get through with him.?

Dirty Andy Dalton puts the squeeze on Main Event Mike Foxx at the NWA Texoma Show last month in Sherman, Texas. The face on the tattoo is Andy's daddy, pro wrestler Frank Dalton of "The Dirty Daltons."

Special Guest Spike Dudley will entertain the fans as ring announcer at the show, which begins just after sunset at the Sherman Elks Lodge, 1317 FM 1417. Tickets are a major-league bargain at 10 bucks. For more information visit the NWA Texoma page on Facebook.
