Turner Announces Historic First Ladder Match For Oklahoma At IZW Redemption

Turner Announces Historic First Ladder Match For Oklahoma At IZW Redemption

Posted: Sep 2nd 2015 By: CMBurnham

On the surface, Paige Turner seems like a quiet, introverted soul. But the current IZW Queen as been using that persona to quietly ensure that no one threatens her position on top of the royal mountain. Especially not Erica.

Erica brought Paige into IZW as an apprentice, but treated her rather poorly, so it is no surprise that Paige as been doing whatever she can in order to gain revenge. And knowing that Erica values the Queens Crown so much, Paige was thrilled to take that away from her on July 13th, thanks in part to some actions from Randy Price prior to their match.

But it seemed like Paige had Ericas number even before that title change. May 23rd saw Paige defeat Erica in a singles match. And while Erica did gain some revenge in a Mixed Tag Team match with Double D against Paige and Maddox Jones (w/ Lisa Generro at ringside), she could not repeat that victory at Evolution on July 18th.

The association of Generro and Paige as only made the life of Erica worse. August 15th saw Erica attempt to have a pre-show meal at Cali Burrito, one of the sponsors for IZW. Erica was alone and bothering no one, but Paige and Lisa showed up and instigated a fight (that turned into assault with food) on Erica. This spurred Erica into being more focused than before as her match that night with Paige was not for the Queens Crown, but if Erica won, then she would receive a title opportunity at Redemption on September 12th.

Erica was victorious in that match, but later in the show, Paige and Lisa came out to the ring and called Erica out again. Lisa offered a match to Erica were the winner would get to choose the stipulation for their match at Redemption. Having already defeated Paige once that night, Erica readily agreed, but then Lisa curve-balled the scenario by saying that Erica would not be facing Paige. Instead, Skylar Slice made her way down the ramp to enter the ring. Slice, who had been destroying competition in ComPro and MSWA, wasted no time setting to work on Erica and in all the years that Erica had been in the ring, she had never come into conflict with anyone who physically handled her the way Slice did. And despite a strong effort, Erica was not able to overcome the monstrous assault from Slice. The former Queen was left a broken heap in the middle of the ring and Paige Turner could announce the stipulation.

That announcement came the next week. In an interview segment backstage, Lisa thanked Slice for her assistance and Slice promised to be there anytime she was needed. When she turned to leave, it was clear that her eyes were on the crown as well and even Paige was concerned about the imposing presence of Slice. But Paige wasted no time in making history because she announced that, for the first time in documented Oklahoma wrestling history, there would be a Women's Ladder Match for the Queens Crown at Redemption between herself and Erica. One of those ladies would have to scale a ladder in order to get the crown down that would be hanging from the ceiling.

Erica has overcome so many odds and would love to place that crown on her head for a 5th time. But with associates like Lisa Generro and Skylar Slice waiting in the shadows, the odds certainly seem to be stacked against Erica. She will need every bit of courage and ingenuity to beat out Paige and reclaim her ability to rein for the high mountain top that the Queen inhabits.
