JR's Blog: New Ross Report Podcast, RAW Feedback, Autobiography Work, New, You Tube Channel, RINGSIDE Shows Next Week, Paul O'Brien & Brian Solomon Talk Writing Wresting

Posted: Aug 12th 2015 By: Jim Ross

Our new Ross Report podcast is alive and well here on the homepage of our site, at podcastone.com and at iTunes where you can subscribe for FREE and never miss a show. We have TWO guests, authors Paul O'Brien and Brian Solomon who each have much to say about their outstanding books and their wrestling fandom. Paul has written the brilliant 'Blood Red Turns Dollar Green' trilogy of novels that are absolutely amazing. Brian penned 'Pro Wrestling FAQ' which is a blast to read and is much lighter than the Irishman's serious work of the territory era of wrestling where it's akin to the mafia meeting suplexes. I hope that you will check our our show that I'm sure will entertain you along with reading both author's work.

Raw was a solid show from the state of Washington Monday night. Here's some quick thoughts:

I'm more interested in the Lesnar/Taker/Heyman business than any thing else on the show or heading to Summer Slam. Very curious as to what will go down in Brooklyn. Many ae predicting that Taker wins but I'm not so sure that he will and have predicted a Lesnar win on my podcast. I will certainly be watching from the comfort of my home on Sunday August 24 which is the day after my RINGSIDE Show in NYC's Gramercy Theater the night before. The Undertaker-Brock video package was money.

Thought the triple threat match was entertaining largely thanks to the fresh contributions of both Kevin Owens and Cesaro to go along with long time main eventer Randy Orton. Cesaro has never looked better in WWE than he has lately. I'm high on both Cesaro and Owens to continue to emerge in WWE. I'm getting deluged on Twitter with questions from people asking me if Kevin Owens is having issues with management. I have no earthly idea as to the answer and see no reason why Owens would be in hot water. Bottom line is I don't know but I do know that Owens beat John Cena cleanly a few weeks ago which can't be discounted or forgotten. Nonetheless a good match that saw all three men contribute significantly.

Would love to have seen Rollins cheat to beat Orton in RKO's second match of the night.

New Day is 'getting it' and are an entertaining trio. They will soon be getting cheered because what are they doing to make them villains?

Miz is excellent on the mic, that's his biggest strength, and it is significant and Miz' work with Daniel Bryan was a good piece of business.

Thought actor Steve Amell over achieved Monday night and I was dead wrong about doubting his appearance which is leading to Summer Slam. Amell is a good athlete or so it seems. Hope that they pull off the special attraction well at Summer Slam.

Q&A's updated here on the site.

Wore out here tonight after 11 hours working on our book. Not physically tired but mentally spent. It's tough at times accurately remembering things and some memories aren't exactly memories one wants to recall.

Still looking to publish our book in 2016 and we hope to be finished with this phase with attorney/author Scott Williams Saturday night before we tag in Paul O'Brien to do his magic. We will not settle for average, that I assure you.

Any one doubting John Cena wrestling at Summer Slam, don't. The former offensive lineman and the face of WWE for the past decade will be in Brooklyn IMO ready to rock. Like him or not he's $2 steak tough. One of our best ever signees.

Next week on the Ross Report podcast my old traveling partner, WCW broadcaster and current sports director of WSB Radio sports director along with being the voice of the Gwinnett Braves on radio, Tony Schiavone. Expect a great show. Last summer when we had Tony on we amassed over 1M downloads.

Check out my new, You Tube channel at www.jrsvideos.com. It just launched and is a work in progress.

I'm loving www.nwaclassics.com and think that you will too. The Paul Boesch/Houston Wrestling library has some amazing content. Different era...different presentation...and different stories told inside the ropes.

Our Washington, D.C. RINGSIDE Show is 'almost' sold out at www.dcimprov.com for Wednesday August 19 so you better hurry if you want to join @chaddukes and me.

Tickets for our NYC Gramercy Theater RINGSIDE Show are available at ticketmaster.com for Saturday night August 22. It's my only NYC date of the year.

Thanks for stopping by as I prep for another mind numbing, trip down memory lane while we attempt to put together a book worth buying. It's going to be good or it won't see the light of day. Yep, I'm in serious book writing mode. Game time!

Boomer Sooner!
