Wrestling For a Cause brings "The Fight for Kyrian" to Dewey on June 13th

Posted: May 16th 2015 By: Mike Iles

Wrestling For a Cause has been in the business of helping children battling cancer all across Oklahoma. On Saturday, June 13th they run their first show in Dewey, to help Kyrian Anderson and his family in their fight against cancer.

At "The Fight for McKinley" on May 2nd in Broken Arrow, Tim Rockwell and Mr. Nasty became the new #1 contenders to the WFC Tag Team Titles by defeating Cast-Iron Cothern & Jake O'Brien, collectively known as The Gentlemen Thugs and card carrying members of The Caballero Cartel. After the match, Rockwell and Nasty announced their new team name, The Soul Ryders, named after Ryder Jack Herring, the first child WFC set out to help and the inspiration for WFC. In Dewey, The Soul Ryders will still have their hands full with Caballero Cartel members as they face Cothern again but this time, the big mustachioed muscle will be tagging with none other than WFC HomeTown Heroes Champion, the crown jewel of The Caballero Cartel, Jon Cross. Cross is no stranger to either Rockwell nor Nasty. Rockwell has feuded with Cross all over Oklahoma and into Arkansas. The feud culminated with Rockwell defeating Cross in an I Quit Match on September 8, 2013. Cross and Nasty feuded throughout the latter part of 2014 with them exchanging the HomeTown Heroes Title. When Cross successfully defended the title against Nasty on March 7th of this year, the stipulation was that Nasty could no longer challenge for the title as long as Cross was champion. This match is the main event and would be a main event in any arena in the country.

For months, Anarchy has been courting The Goons (Riker, Abel & Cole) to join him and he would lead them to stardom. But The Goons only had one thing on their mind, money. As long as Stevie Caballero continued to hold their contracts, they would do his bidding. At the May 2nd show, Caballero paid them off with a bonus and said their services were no longer needed. Cole was the first Goon to have a match after their services with Caballero ended, and he faced none other than Anarchy. Despite basically facing a 3 on 1 disadvantage, Anarchy picked up the win. He then talked to The Goons again saying he could show them a better way. Riker and Abel eagerly showed loyalty to their new mentor, while Cole was a little reluctant but eventually agreed. The 4 men then saluted the crowd from the turnbuckles and The Goons heard cheers for the first time in their short WFC careers. Those cheers turned to gasps as Anarchy attacked Cole stating that he needed a Goons shirt and wanted Cole's. Riker and Abel joined the attack and now it seems Cole is out and Anarchy is in. Cole, now known by his actual name Ethan Cole, faces off against the man that kicked him out of The Goons, Anarchy. You can bet that Riker and Abel won't be too far behind.

Speaking of The Goons, and more specifically Riker, he has a monumental task at "The Fight for Kyrian" as he will face Brian Breaker, who is just returning from a successful tour of Japan with Pro Wrestling NOAH. While in Japan he tagged with former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin during NOAH's annual Global Tag League Tournament. He and Benjamin also tagged with NWA World Tag Team Champions The Killer Elite Squad (Lance Hoyt & Davey Boy Smith, Jr.) in some non-tournament tag team matches. It has been reported that Breaker impressed both NOAH officials and officials at New Japan Pro Wrestling as well. With Breaker's return and with Riker now being guided by Anarchy, this hard hitting match is one you do not want to miss.

Other matches already announced are Fuel taking on Drake Gallows, and Sam Stackhouse vs. 1/2 of the Tag Team Champions AC Slaughter, Aaron Anders

WFC's "The Fight for Kyrian" will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Dewey. General Admission tickets are $10 and VIP Tickets are $15. A VIP Ticket gets you early admission to the arena at 5pm, open seating, and a meet and greet with your favorite WFC stars. Doors open for General Admission seating at 6pm. You can buy your VIP Tickets in advance at State Farm at 550 SE Washington Suite D in Bartlesville. There may be some VIP Tickets available at the door, but we did sell out in Broken Arrow so don't take the chance. Bell Time for the event in 7pm.

See you at ringside!!!
