Knocking Out The Spirit Of The Holidays
Posted: Mar 16th 2015 By: Michael Hunt
Although it has been almost 3 months since the incidents, the resurgence of MSWA makes one wonder what may be in store for some of the wrestlers who certainly had issues with each other in 2014.
Just prior to Christmas, The Saints of Pro Wrestling had carried their issue with MSWA owner Bad Boy and MSWA commissioner C. M. Burnham to new heights. On December 14, Shawn Sanders faced off against the former tag team partner of Bad Boy, Glen Steel. Steel was victorious in that match, but after the match, the full force of the Saints descended on the ring and, in typical gangland-style, put the boots to Steel until Bad Boy, Dominator and MSWA Oklahoma Champion Spike came to the rescue. Overwhelmed with anger at the intensifying situation, Bad Boy made an impromptu match between Dominator and Buster Cherry.
Neither of those two men are thought of as technical wizards, so the match was more of a brawl than anything else. And eventually, both men spilled to the outside and were counted out of the ring by the referee. As both men continued to put the fists to each other, Santa Claus emerged from the back and began to and out candy to the children in attendance. Cherry and his manager, Brandon Barricade, bumped into Santa Claus on their way to try and escape through the curtain and the intensity once again heated up, as they began to physically and verbally berate Saint Nick. This brought Dominator around and he took over once again, pummeling both members of the Saints until all 3 men were in the back.
Moments after that, C. M. Burnham arrived from the back, obviously shaken up by what he had seen in the hallway leading to the dressing area. Burnham told the MSWA fans that since both men wanted to battle each other and were unable to remain within the confines of the rules, and since he was in the giving spirit of Christmas, he planned to put together a North Pole Knockout match. Both men would compete in a Hardcore Match, but both would also have to wear Santa Suits!
Burnham may have been in the giving spirit when the match was set up, but Cherry and Barricade were in the spirit come time to actually have the match. Both of them attacked Dominator before the match officially began, giving him a severe beating. However, before the actions could continue much further, Burnham arrived and ejected Barricade from ringside. When the portly advisor protested, saying he had a license to manage, Burnham pointed out that Barricade was not dressed in a Santa outfit and therefore was not really within the confines of the rules. A dejected Barricade made is way to the back, but the other two men wasted no time in lacing back into each other. Using every available piece of potential weaponry they could find, Cherry and Dominator beat on each other and tried to render each other unconscious. Finally, despite the Hardcore Rules stipulation, both men got too far out of control and the referee threw the match out, leaving everyone with an unfulfilled sense regarding the issues between these two.
But perhaps Dominator achieved more than he expected in that match. Cherry has not been at any of the MSWA events since this match occurred and inquires to the Saints about his condition have resulted in some confusing responses. Could it be that Cherry was visited by 3 spirits over the course of the Christmas holidays? Or is he just biding his time, under orders of the Saints to wait as an ace up their sleeves? Perhaps the answers to those questions will be revealed at the next MSWA event on March 27th.
