Rockwell Fights Overwhelming Odds To Drive Caballero From WFC

Rockwell Fights Overwhelming Odds To Drive Caballero From WFC

Posted: Feb 7th 2015 By: CMBurnham

Practically since the beginning of WFC's existance, two men have been battling each other. Two men who at one time were the closest of friends.

Tim Rockwell and Stevie Caballero were associated for over 6 years. Together, they entered so many federations and claimed a plethora of titles. But that association dissolved upon the creation of WFC. And for most of the first year's worth of its existence, Caballero has made it his goal to run Rockwell out of the company. To that end, he has assembled a highly diverse collection of personalities into the Caballero Cartel. Men like Nr. Nasty and Jon Cross, who have brought the WFC Hometown Heroes home to him. Others, like the returning Cast-Iron Cothern or Dutch Hagen, have a proven track record of brutality and devastation that they bring with them.

Despite this impressive assortment of individuals, Caballero has not been able to achieve his ultimate goal: the complete removal of Tim Rockwell from WFC. So with that in mind, Caballero recently looked at the acquisition of 3 new pieces of talent, collectively known as The Goons. While nameless, these Goons have a young hungry desire to prove themselves and become full-fledged members of the Caballero Cartel, perhaps even moving on to bring more gold to the stable.

In September, Rockwell was finally able to corner Caballero in a 1-on-1 situation, facing him in a No DQ match. That didn't actually translate into 1-on-1 as both the Goons and Cast-Iron Cothern made their debuts for WFC. But none of that translated into a win for Caballero as Rockwell still pulled out the victory.

Caballero would rebound from that loss by leading Jon Cross to victory in the Rumble For A Cause, earning him a show at the WFC Hometown Heroes Title and bringing about the end of the relationship between Caballero and Mr. Nasty. Rockwell also pulled double duty as he faced his former tag team partner Cast-Iron Cothern, whom he defeated by DQ. After Cross beat Nasty for the WFC Hometown Heroes title, Rockwell teamed with Double D and Brian Breaker to take on Cross, Cothern and the returning Dutch Hagen. Again, Rockwell lead his team to victory and notched one more accomplishment in his war with Big Stevie.

Having lost the 6-man, Caballero officially introduced the Goons into competition as they teamed with Cothern against Rockwell, D and Los Cambatientes Machos. It was a whirlwind of action as all eight men brought their levels of chaos to the ring, but again, Rockwell and his associates stood victorious. That loss was just the beginning of the disappointment that night as Cross would also lose the WFC Title to Mr. Nasty.

Having been successful in 3-on-3 situations and 4-on-4 situations, Rockwell found himself in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match on January 11. Include the influence of Stevie Caballero and it became 4-on-1 situation. But Rockwell is no stranger to the overwhelming odds and certainly no stranger to Stevie Caballero and his tactics. Despite the constant barrage from all sides and the illegal interference from outside the ring, Rockwell once again overcame and was able to walk away the victor.

And now, Caballero once again finds himself forced to step in the ring with Caballero. But as usual, Caballero has found a way to stack the odds as he agreed to a match with Rockwell with the understanding that it was again a Handicap Match. This time, it was only 2-on-1, but Caballero's partner would be Cast-Iron Cothern. Rockwell has never been able to pin Cothern's shoulders since his arrival in WFC and with Cothern involved, the likelihood that Rockwell can put his hands on Stevie seems slim. But that is almost certainly the goal. And if Rockwell can do that, he may finally be able to eliminate the biggest thorn in his side in his entire professional wrestling career.
