McAlester Police officer Richard Bedford was hit Saturday night by a drunken driver, but says he is okay.
"I just want to say to everyone, please do not drink and drive, if you see emergency lights slow down and move over," Bedford said in a Facebook post Sunday. "The person that hit me while I was on a traffic stop was intoxicated and his passenger was too."
He said the intoxicated driver hit the back of his patrol car then the car hit him while speaking to the driver of the car he had stopped.
" I was very lucky to have walked out of the hospital," he said.
