Father & Son Clash on January 11, 2015
Posted: Jan 2nd 2015 By: WFCCharity.com
It began in November 2013 in a Six Man HomeTown Heroes Challenge Match with the winner earning the coveted Number One Contender spot to the WFC HomeTown Heroes Championship. The last two men in the match were Striker and his son, Maddox Jones. Though Striker initially refused to fight his own son and attempted to leave the ring, Maddox declined the easy victory and insisted that he and his father finish the match. Just moments later, Maddox would find himself tapping out to an ankle lock submission applied by his own father. Frustrated and angry, Maddox refused to shake his father?s hand and left the ring. For months, bitterness ate away at Maddox who launched a series of sneak attacks against his father, blaming him for his lack of success in WFC. Ultimately Maddox would cost his father the WFC HomeTown Heroes Championship in September 2014. The family squabble would finally explode in October 2014 when Striker reached his breaking point, fighting his own son in a brawl that had to be broken up by most of the WFC locker room. WFC Director of Wrestling Operations Dexter Hardaway immediately banned the father and son from all WFC events for the remainder of 2014.
Now, it is all coming to a head. It has just been announced that Striker and Maddox Jones will return to WFC at The Fight for Koshimi on January 11, 2015 at the Broken Arrow Boys & Girls Club. Once again, a chance to compete for the WFC HomeTown Heroes Championship is on the line but, perhaps more importantly, this could be a chance for the estranged father and son to finally bring an end to their long running feud.
