JR's Blog: X-PAC on Ross Report Podcast tonite at 9 ET, RAW Feedback, Wrestle Kingdom 9 Jan. 4 on PPV, CM Punk follow up, Lucha Underground, ShopOnline for JR's for the Holidays!
Posted: Dec 10th 2014 By: Jim Ross
Our online business for the holidays in both North America and abroad has been excellent. http://www.wweshop.cm/jimross is restocking again and will have another large shipment of JR's by week's end so keep an eye on their site at WWEShop.com. Some new packages are going to be introduced there soon. http://www.americansoda.co.uk and http://www.beyondtheropes.co.uk are both staying busy and from what I'm told are both beginning to run low on our goods. If you can, order early to avoid being shut out or encountering shipping delays. If American Soda or Beyond the Ropes run out of product we won't be able to get them more inventory in time for the holidays. Bottom line is o order as soon as you can and be patient as we restock the WWEshop.com website who can't keep our products in stock. Let's grill.....
Tonight at 9 ET a new Ross Report Podcast will drop at podcastone.com and on Tunes where I suggest that you subscribe and down load for FREE so as to not miss a single show. Tonight I welcome Sean X-Pac Waltman to the show as we travel through on of the most interesting and compelling careers of any talent out there. From an abusive childhood, to getting into pro wrestling as an undersized teen, to headlining many major events as members of such factions as DX, the KLIQ, the nWo, battling his demons & relationships, having a foray in the adult film world with Chyna and SO much more this is a conversation that I feel that you will be talking about for a good while.
Also, later today I will also be speaking to ROH's Adam Cole for a future Ross Report that will air in late January.
Next week, Jeff Jarrett joins me as we will review this Sunday's WWE PPV from Cleveland entitled TLC. Plus Jeff and I will talk more about the much anticipated Wrestle Kingdom 9 PPV that will be available throughout North America on most cable and satellite systems plus on the FlippsTV app outside the borders of North America on Sunday January 4.
All our podcasts are FREE and can be downloaded by simply visiting podcastone.com or iTunes. When you subscribe for FREE it helps us immensely and it costs you nothing and has no hidden gimmicks. Same when you use Amazon when doing online shopping via our site at podcastone.com.
RAW Thoughts:
I had no issue with Ziggler losing to the new, top, WWE villain Seth Rollins especially with Mercury and Noble at ringside. Ziggler is building and his fans are solidly behind him which is great that they've been patient. I like veteran wrestlers Noble and Mercury role in WWE and think that they add to the process. Plus, it's fun to see two guys who paid plenty of dues get one more run with the ball.
Hope that the three man presentation known as New Day succeeds. I'm not feeling it yet but this trio is new and just getting rolling. It will be interesting to see where they wind up in the next few months. New, re-purposed acts don't click over night very often. All three members of New Day are good locker room guys and all three have talent.
Really high on Charlotte while Nattie has made herself into a top star by being a loyal, talented team player. That's how it's done. The lower the maintenance the better. If more talents simply focused on doing their job and getting better each day than becoming immersed in BS & locker room drama everything generally works better. Charlotte can be a difference maker if she can continue to focus on improving her game and not allow outside distractions to affect her. BTW I was surprised that Charlotte lost in Flair Country.
Nice night for the heel Bray Wyatt who took another positive step toward the 'bad side' which is a good thing. The hotter Wyatt can become as a main line villain the better. Lots of upside in Bray Wyatt.
Was Harper vs. Rowan booked too soon? I was good with it but some on Twitter @JRsBBQ thought so. I'd have also been good with it if the storyline had played out a little longer too.
It's easy to see that Damien Mizdow is getting over. Happy for him. He's reinvented himself multiple times but always comes to work ready and willing to help the team. Maintains a positive attitude and is always looking for ways to make himself better. Good credo for all of us to utilize.
Still of the mindset that Miz could be the next big thing as a 'manager' for the lack of a better term.
Impressive with where Stagger has his physique.. Athletic, 6'6"-275 pounders are hard to find and if Swagger can get some tutoring and put in the work himself on his personality he has a shot at being a main event player. Yes, I'm biased but I know what I see.
Surprised to see Roman Reigns win the Superstar of the Year but happy to see him looking closer to being ready. I hope he has some matches off TV before he returns to RAW, etc.
It never bothers me to see the villains leave the air on TV in a dominate position and that's what happened on Raw Monday night.
Working hard to be ready for the Wrestle Kingdom 9 PPV on Sunday January 4. But am ready for some of the NJPW diehards to take me to task if I accidently pronounce a name incorrectly or call a finisher that may have a different name in the USA? I'm prepared to be scolded and that's part of the fun of preparing.
Punk note...for those wondering how UFC is going to utilize Punk considering that he has approximately 6 months to train before his first UFC fight, I find that an easy answer to provide anyone who's interested. UFC has plenty of TV programming to produce and documenting Punk's journey from time to time will make good TV programming. That's a win....just ask Fox Sports. Just like dating, at times the journey is greater than the end result which in this case will be Punk's first, UFC fight. For anyone that doesn't see how Punk has ALREADY been a success in UFC, then they are in need of a marketing/promotion class.
By the way, thanks for the positive feedback on my CM Punk to UFC stories onfoxsports.com and here on Monday's blog.
I'm working on a story for foxsports.com on Droz who was paralyzed in a match on October 5, 1999. I will keep you informed as to when I finish it. I talked to Droz for three hours and could have talked to him much longer. I felt blessed to re-connect with Darren aka Puke back in the day who's life changed forever in the Nassau Coliseum. On the night that Droz was injureed, I was with Steve Austin in a hunting lodge near Grand Rapids, Michigan where we were shooting some vignettes.
Our Ross Report has remained in the top ten of iTunes top 300 sports charts for the past week peaking at #5. We were #8 this morning. Thanks for all your support.
The Lucha Underground show is one of the more unique pro wrestling shows to be introduced in quite some time. They have a different look and texture and always try to have some good bouts on their show to balance out their, non traditional, non wrestling scenes. As with all pro wrestling organizations, I am pulling for them all which I feel all legit fans should as well.
We are working on two dates for RINGSIDE with Jim Ross Shows in January in New Jersey and in Philly. Details are allegedly being finalized any day now. Both shows will feature VIP meet and greet tickets with photo ops, personalized autographs, and a FREE bottle of JR's Original BBQ Sauce. I love these live shows as they are unpredictable and the Q&A 's are generally outstanding especially from those those obsessed with digging for 'dirt.' I couldn't write a better script. Stay tuned for all the info and I certainly hope thou will join me.
Thanks for stopping by and don't for get to visit our &A's and to ask any question that you choose.
BOOMER SOON!
