Posted: Dec 6th 2014 By: Press Release

Barbi Hayden will face third generation pro wrestler Tessa Blanchard with the Lone Star Women?s Championship on the line at Lone Star Championship Wrestling #45 on Saturday, January 17 in Cypress, TX.

Hayden is a three-time Lone Star Women?s Champion and has held the title uninterrupted since defeating Rachel Summerlyn on September 14, 2012. In the past two years, Hayden has established herself as one of the premiere female wrestlers on the independent circuit, reaching as high as fifth on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated women?s rankings and debuting at number 12 on the 2014 PWI Female 50.

Blanchard, the granddaughter of legend Joe and daughter of WWE Hall of Famer and Four Horsemen member Tully Blanchard, is quickly making her way up the ranks and establishing a reputation all her own winning multiple regional championships. She recently competed at the 2014 edition of WrestleCade where she took on former WWE Women?s Champion Mickie James, and recently competed against such high-profile opponents as Veda Scott and Amber O?Neal.

Others competing at the event include Lone Star Heavyweight Champion ?The Texas Lion? Houston Carson, Lone Star Tag Team Champions David ?Super Duperon and Rudy Russo, Lone Star Jr. Heavyweight Champion ?The Juicy One? Danny Ramons, ?Notorious? Shane Taylor, ?The Exclamation Point? Steve Anthony, ?The Royal Warrior? Prince Kanu and the ?Royal Property? Hambone, Chaz Taylor, ?Blacknificent? Luther Black, Chaz Taylor, ?Benchmark? Silky Baines, and Sons of Texas members ?Cowboy? James Claxton, Killer McKenzie, Moonshine Mantel and ?Mad Dog? Ken Johnson.

?In third generation pro wrestler Tessa Blanchard, Barbi faces her toughest Lone Star Women?s title challenge so far,? said Lone Star Championship Wrestling CEO/Promoter Tony Brooklyn. ?I also want to thank Gilbert Boyas and our friends at Clutch City Productions for helping make this match become a reality. This is just a small taste of what our affiliation with Clutch City Productions will bring to Lone Star Championship Wrestling.?

Lone Star Championship Wrestling, along with sponsors Clutch City Productions, Transtar Federal Credit Union, Kim?s Korner Antique Auctions, Through Our Lens Photography and the Lost Boys, makes its return to VFW Post 8905 in Cypress, Texas for its first event under the Lone Star banner after rebranding following a two-year stint as NWA Houston, an affiliate of the National Wrestling Alliance.
