Started writing this around midnight central time to get pack to podcast work to prepare for a memorable Tuesday. In 3 hours, winter has arrived in Norman with the temps dropping 40 degrees. Big day Tuesday with a Ross Report Podcast to record, a new show dropping at 9 pm ET tonight plus a radio audition today for a well known national chain.Remember that you can now listen to the Ross Report Podcast right here on the home page of this website. Let's grill.....
@alexdgreenfield the former head writer for WWE Smackdown and who had a somewhat tumultuous relationship with Vince McMahon will be our guest and Sir Alex comes unfiltered and loaded for bear. This show is fun as hell and you will thoroughly enjoy it I guarantee. This new show drops at 9 pm ET and you can access it right here on the homepage of the website, at http://podcastone.com and via iTunes.
Early in the day Tuesday I am speaking with a helluva woman when I talk to @LisaMarieVaron who was of the very best to ever step into a ring and for many reasons of which we will discuss when we talk.
Excited to compete via auditions to do some radio commercial work for a national chain of restaurants that could equate to the much prized and beloved 'mailbox money.' Hey, a brother's got to eat!
RAW THOUGHTS:
Liverpool crowd seemed to be having a great time more often than not. If WWE is censoring the chants that WWE perceives to be negative toward their brand then I feel that they are making a mistake. Allow the audience to be raw and organic and then be creative enough to make something out of he chants.
The object of the night was to sell the main event of a one match PPV, Survivor Series, and to put John Cena in jeopardy and WWE succeeded on both fronts.
Starting of the night I kind of liked the voiced over, cold open of the show. It refreshes the fan's memory.
Mildly intrigued with Ambrose vs. Bray at Survivor Series. Hope to get more interested by game day as I'm a big fan of both men. They have some unique rhetoric regarding their issues of which is a make or break element in this story line.
Some whacky elements in the US Title match...almost SNL satirical in texture...a Bulgarian playing a Russian sympathizer, an Irish challenger in a match for the United States Title all coming together in Liverpool, England. And of course the match ended in a count out which was impotent and helped no one. Wold have been a nice win for the villain champion who actually retreated a time or two like heels have done for a century in the ring and in real life.
Still annoys me that matches are often interrupted by a commercial break which is certainly a buzz killer. There is a better way.
Mizdow are swimming upstream. They are not heels. Heels do not make their audience laugh. They are entertaining nonetheless. I could see Miz managing Mizdow quite easily especially if they were heels.
Thought WWE was allowing Adam Rose to channel the amazing, Exotic Adrian Street there for a few minutes. Exotic Adrian was a fascinating character and a legit, brutal man if need be. He once beat Terry Taylor for the Mid South TV Title with a kiss. Booker Bill Dundee had to do some slick talking to get Cowboy Bill Watts to go for that one.
John Cena gave Ryback an incredible "RUB" on RAW during the first and last segment of the show so RAW was bookend well. It's obvious that WWE has big plans for Ryback.
WWE is banking on the one, main event to put the hay in the barn at the Survivor Series with the 'power' of the Authority hanging in he balance. If this was the War Games, the Authority would win the coin toss.
WWE needs to start producing some new tees such as THE BIG GUY, FEED ME MORE, and I'M A TEAM PLAYER. Strike while the iron is hot. BTW...Luke harper is a booker's dream. Some day I will tell you why.
WWE appears to be booking the PPV's much like they booked the monthly, big shows at Madison Square Garden back in the day.
Really enjoyed the ECW themed broadcast that followed RAW on the @WWENetwork featuring ECW mastermind aka the Myer Lansky of pro wrestling @HeymanHustle Paul Heyman and the voice of ECW, @joeystyles. Fun show that wasn't over produced and the talents seemed to be relaxed and having a good time. Nice job gentlemen....you too Happy.
