RAW FEEDBACK:
I still think that creativity as it relates to stunts, etc for this Sunday's HIAC will be challenging considering that there will be two Hell in a Cell matches on the show both in a PG world. Anxious to see how the creative minds come up with elements that will make the two main events special, different and perceived as "dangerous."
Up and down week as it relates to some of the creative for Dean Ambrose who has been building his TV persona well the past few weeks. I thought Ambrose leveled out or took a step back somewhat Monday night.
Loved the inclusion of @RealMickFoley surprise appearance to address the HIAC match. Enjoyed Mick's promo a great deal. Nice creative placement from where I was sitting. Ambrose and Rollins got a nice rub from Foley which both the young guys really needed.
The HIAC video package was good. WWE TV folks do a wonderful job of editing these pieces and this one was no different. It helped me get more emotionally invested in Sunday's big event in Dallas.
Still think that Cesaro is close to stepping up to the next level. He needs work on his verbal skills and personalty but Cesaro's work is excellent. He's one of my favorite WWE talents on today's roster.
Again the IC and the US Title holders lost on the WWE's franchise broadcast which is a head scratcher especially as it downgrades their top two, regularly seen titles notwithstanding it does then on televised live events no favors. As I've mentioned on the Ross Report Podcast it seems as if holding the IC and US titles is a curse to the titleholders. I can't explain this particular creative. Hopefully it will change sooner than later. Having meaningless titles is illogical.
Enjoyed the Wyatt vignettes but I don't understand them yet but hope that they take all three to bigger and better spots on the card.
I'm doing an appearance with free food, autographs, photos and more this Saturday from noon-3 pm at the Crest Foods store in Edmond, Oklahoma. If you are in the area come by and say hello and have a sample of JR's BBQ.
Tagged along with my wife Monday night to see Theresa Caputo the Long Island Medium in OKC which drew about 8-10,000 fans which totally surprised me. Hope WWE does that or more when they return to OKC on December 2. BTW...the Long Island Medium had an provocative and entertaining show loaded with drama and some humor as well. Well produced but not over produced. Ms Caputo is very entertaining.
So, I watched RAW on DVR which I honestly must admit was more enjoyable than watching it live as I did not have to sit through 15 commercial breaks. To each his own.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Douglas Allen Baker aka Ox Baker who passed away earlier this week at the age of 80. Ox was an old school heel who was not a bump machine but got his heat in a straight forward manner and had one of the all time great, heel looks ever in the business. Ox was outgoing and loud and was also a noted chef in his day along with having a great singing voice. Ox was never known as a 'great worker' but he was a terrific talker and a main eventer in many territories. Ox's heart punch was put over big time which he utilized efficiently. Alberto Torres and Ray Gunkle both died after wrestling OX and some promoters wanted to capitalize on Ox's heart punch which had zero to do with either death. Ox got the role in 'Escape from New York' after Bruiser Brody turned down the role and Ox got to work with Kurt Russell.
RIP OX.
Q&A's updated here on the site too.
I appreciate all of you for continuing to support the Ross Report podcast. Keep it up....we need your support. Thank you all.
Boomer Sooner!
