Professional wrestlers will be taking the stage in singlets on Oct. 18 during Carl Junction?s first ?Smackdown on Cancer? event.
?It?s gonna be mass chaos, but yet a family friendly atmosphere,? said professional wrestler Barry Linduff, who?s known as ?Mr. Saturday Night.?
About 10 wrestlers from all over the country will be participating in the event, which will benefit Carl Junction CARES, a nonprofit that promotes cancer awareness through education, promotion and financial support of local breast cancer-related organizations.
Last year, the organization donated $3,000 to Hope 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation and another $3,000 to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks.
Wristbands for ringside floor seats are $10 each. General admission is free, but guests are encouraged to donate and wear pink.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and bell ring is at 7 p.m. at the Carl Junction High School gym. The event is expected to last between two and a half to three hours.
Linduff, a graphic designer from Quapaw, Oklahoma, joined up with Traditional Championship Wrestling in 2012 and has traveled across the country for matches that have been featured on TV stations worldwide.
He will be taking the stage during a battle of reality stars and will be up against professional wrestler Matt Riviera.
Both men were featured in reality-TV shows. Riviera was on ?The Millionaire Matchmaker,? and Linduff was featured in ?Steve Austin?s Broken Skull Challenge? that debuted on CMT in July.
